Meadow Trading Post

Hello everyone!

Our family will be tenting at the Fort January 24-30, 2009 (DH, DS-14, DD-9 and me). Can someone here please tell me the amenities that are available at the Meadow Trading Post?

I know that you can get the refillable mugs and coffee there... but we are wondering about a microwave or toaster being available. If we need to bring our own - that is okay too.

Not sure but I do not know of a microwave or toaster that you can use. But I have never asked sorry I know I was not much help.

I don't remember ever seeing a toaster oven or microwave at the Meadow Trading post for the campers to use we have always used our own.

No microwave or toaster. They have bread, coffee, soup, crackers, etc--but it's expensive.

We will be sure to take our toaster and coffee pot with us. We always buy one refillable mug to use and keep as a souvenier.

We didn't request a specific loop for our tenting experience - but either loop will work for us.

Not a big deal, but I think the only place at the Fort that sells the Refillable Mugs is Trails End. You can get soda and hot drinks at Trails End, but only the hot drinks at the Meadows Trading Post. I am pretty sure that they do not sell the mugs there at the Meadows Trading post, though.

I also will confirm negative on the microwave and toaster for public use. If you really need one, there are both available for use at the Roaring Forks quick serve location at Wilderness Lodge, which is just a quick bus or boat ride away. If you are heading out to a park, and want to grab breakfast on the way, that might work for you. Best bet is to bring your own.

You are correct about the way it used to be done, but there is now a soda dispensing machine in Trails End, like you will find in the other resorts, along with a coffee and hot water machine. This is the only location to get soda. The Meadows Trading Post has only coffee and hot water. Also, you have to ask a castmember for hot cocoa packets at both locations. No mug refills at the Settlement Trading Post.

Okay thanks Tri circle D. I'm glad they changed their policy, it was a pain in the neck trying to get one of the waiters attention and then they acted like they were doing you a favor..........much easier to wait on yourself.

The mugs currently being used (as of earlier this month) look like the mug in the bottom right of this photo:

These mugs were first used in 2007, and had the date 2007 printed on them. Currently, they have no date. It is about time for a change in the mugs, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a new design soon.

Thanks for the pics! When we stayed at CS last December, they were using the last of the 'old' refillable mugs. However, we noticed other guests on the buses that had the generic WDW mugs. It would be great to have individually themed mugs - but I'm sure the cost is higher.

Our DD will just LOVE knowing that cocoa is available too.
