So lets say that I am an extremely obsessive compulsive person (which I really am) and I don't exactly feel comfortable with the whole idea of allowing someone to "magically" collect and transport my luggage from MCO without me having ever been able to check that it all got there. Since, I have already told my TA that I am flying SW (got a great deal by the way using the internet special $98 roundtrip per person) and gave her my flight numbers and arrival times. Couldn't I just "pretend" that I never got my yellow ME tags (even if by luck I do get them on time) and then collect my own luggage (which will be tagged with the AAA tags with our names on them) and take them to the ME counter so that I at least know they got to MCO, and then I will feel a little better about them magically appearing in my room, because I will know they didn't end up in Timbucktoo!

Just let me know if this makes sense :)

i have no experince with m.e. however your "battleplan" does make good sense. good luck! i hope it work's.i understand wanting to know if your luggage make's it with you to mco.

I have a friend who recently returned from WDW and used ME. She retrieved her own luggage and carried it with them to the bus, where the driver took it and placed it on the bus with them. I, being the controll freak that I am, intend to do the same thing. I've read others on here that have done the same. :wave2:

Thanks for the response! I really do feel alot safer this way, I am not really one for saying "OK, It's in Disneys hands, I know it's all going to get there"

I am all about the Disney Magic but my sense of rational logic kicks in and tells me that I had better ensure that the "Unmagical" Southwest airline employees aren't sending my luggage somewhere else.

Southwest is not 'unmagical', they have some of the best employees of any airline. Of course, anybody can make a mistake, but SWA has a mighty good service record. I've never had any trouble with them and they have always been wonderfully polite, friendly, and helpful to me.
