ME with One Night at a Hotel, then Transferring???

We are planning one night at PO, then transferring to the Poly. Is there any way we can just have the PO staff hold our luggage and then trasnfer it the next day to the Poly? We'll be carrying on pajamas, a change of clothes, toiletries.

Otherwise, since we may not get our luggage until late at night (we arrive at 6:15pm), and we'll just have to arrange for it to be transferred really early in the a.m. (we plan to check into the Poly before going to the MK at 9am)....kind of wasted energy

I think I'd rather KNOW that my luggage arrived at Disney even if you just leave in tact in your room to be picked up by bell services the next am. Otherwise, you may not know your luggage is missing and needs to be traced for 2 days until you settle into the Poly.
