Anyone use ME from the airport recently and remember how long it took from the time your flight landed until you were dropped off at your hotel? I know there are a lot of factors that can affect it but I just wanted to get an idea.

We have done it twice in years past, but I was never watching the clock and have no idea how long it took. Next week we are taking ME to ASM and meeting my parents there (who are driving). I told them to expect us at the hotel about around 4pm, our flight is scheduled to land at 1pm, assuming of course that it is on time.

I'm actually hoping that 3 hours is more than enough time, b/c (just b/t you and me, lol!) I would love to get there and get checked in before they arrive. Does that sound reasonably possible?

Hi,

In general, it takes between 60 and 90 minutes from the time your flight arrives at the gate until the time you are walking into your resort.

The average time is around 90 minutes. So there is a very good chance that you will arrive before your parents.

We have had it take as little as 50 minutes but that was because we were sitting in the 3rd row on the plane and went straight to the DME bus...walked on and the bus left in under 10 minutes. We were also the first off the bus at the first stop.

This was us Feb 4th. We got off the plane, walked to the DME podium, told them how many bags we had checked, then they directed us to the POFQ line. That line was empty and as we got closer to the end, the CM started waving at us and told us to hurry the bus was waiting on us. We barely got on the bus before it took off. Even with a quick stop stop at Old Key West to let one couple off, we were at the resort just under and hour after landing. As an AP holder, I go to WDW several times a year, so use DME 4-6 times a year. It normally takes 60-90 minutes after landing to get to the resort. I have timed it and I think the average is about 75 minutes.

My 3 DME times, from airplane exit to resort drop off, have been 63 minutes, 57 minutes and 59 minutes.

I'll be doing it again in 4 days, and I'll time it again!

Man, I'm going to start traveling with you!! I have had only trip that was in the 60 min time frame. Most seem to be running closer to the 70 min mark lately.

Here's my average breakdown...
plane 'lands' at 10:00am.
Off the plane by 10:15
Gate to DME area...10:30
Wait time for the bus, then onto bus...10:45
leave MCO...11:00
Drive to first resort....11:25.

Granted, these are average times. I have had one trip that was 50 mins, start to finish....first row on the plane, so got right off. The tram was loading as I approached. Flashed my vouchers at the checkin area. No one in front of me when I got to the bus line...right onto the bus, and the bus then left (I was the last person on the bus). Then, I was the first stop. But, that doesn't usually happen that way. There is always a wait someplace along the way.

With that in mind, figure on 90 mins, from gate to resort. You will most likely not take that long, but better off figuring on it taking longer.
