ME Tags

Ok, not saying that I don't trust the incredibly friendly call center agent I just spoke to, but... We changed our hotel from Pop to Port Orleans about a week ago and our ME tags arrived today still stating Pop. The really truly nice lady I spoke with stated that I don't need to worry about what the tags actually say, because they run the barcodes through and that overrides what the tags say. Can anyone verify this? TIA!

Well they definitely run the barcodes through, but if you want to be extra sure, there's a few things you can do.

First, you can choose not to put the tags on your bags at all, pick up your bags at the airport, and bring them personally to ME.

Second, there's no harm in crossing out Pop on the tag and writing Port Orleans.

Finally, call and ask ME to send more tags. We had them send more because they only sent 2 and we had 4 bags. They sent us 6 more. Maybe when they send new ones they'll have your correct resort on them since it sounds like your original tags may have been printed before you made the switch!

We have switched resorts and used the tags with the original resorts name on them and the bags ended up at the correct resort. So yes you should be fine!

ME will usually send new tags, if there is time to get them to you before your trip. Call them directly (not Disney CRO) at 866-599-0951.

If you're really worried, you can always not put the yellow ME tags on your bags and give your baggage claim tags to the ME agent at the ME desk. They'll get them and transfer them for you.

I talked to ME yesterday, they told me to cross out the resort name and write in the new one. I admit it makes me nervous!

I've been told the same thing, that they scan the tag, and that's the only info that really matters.
