Going to Disney World in September and going to rent a car. Here's my questions...If I rent a car from MCO, but return it at the Car Care Center at WDW:
1) is there a fee for the shuttle from the Car Care Center back to the resort?
2) would we be able to take ME to the airport (even though we didn't take it to the resort)?

I'm finding LOTS of info out on this site, but haven't found if the shuttle to the Car Care Center is complimentary or not and if we can only use ME one-way not round trip.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry, can't help too much with your ME questions...I think you can take ME one-way, perhaps others have experience.
The Magic Kingdom Car Care Center National/Alamo shuttle is complimentary for folks staying at WDW resorts.

agnes!

Re: DME, we did something similar in May. We had booked DME both ways but at the last minute we decided to rent a car for one day to get us from MCO to WDW because of all the uncertainty around DME at that time and because we wanted to make a grocery stop. We rented from National at MCO and turned the car in at the Dolphin (we were staying at YC so we walked from the Dolphin back to YC). We didn't cancel our inbound DME booking because, well, every time I spoke with them they didn't seem to know when we were arriving (kept losing our flight info) so we didn't think they would miss us if we didn't turn up!

We still got the notice under our door the day before departure so they didn't cancel our return DME reservation when we didn't turn up for the inbound trip. They had (again) lost our flight info so we had to call them to arrange our pick up time.

So we did do DME just one way, though we had originally booked it as a round trip. I can't see that they would have a problem with what you want to do. Just call them and tell them you only need DME to get back to MCO. Just be prepared because they are still shaking the bugs out. If you don't get a confirmation letter under your door the day before your departure, call them. And even if you do get a confirmation letter, they may not have your flight info and you might still need to call them to arrange a pick up time.

I can't help with the shuttle question since we turned our car in at the Dolphin and walked to our resort.
