Me Questions.

Hi.

I am trying to figure some things out.

1. We are getting a rental car.

2. I am debating on also taking ME (it's nice for them to take the bags!)

We have an AK rental and My mom is staying @ pop- but both rentals are in my name.



So this is a few questions:
1.I booked the AK rental thru orbitz- so I guess i Just print my ME info from there? Does anyone know?

2. Can I check us all in ME, but then we all take the Pop bus so I can check in there? Then my husband could come to Pop pick us all up and we could go to AK?

3. WIll the luggage all make it to the right places?

Or do you think it would be better just to get our luggage ourself and not take advantage of ME?

This is all kinda stressing me out. Because we have 3 adults, 2 kids (and the 2 year is VERY ACTIVE!) plus 2 carseats, stroller, etc...

Anyone have any suggestions? I am sure there is an "easy" solution I'm just not thinking clearly anymore. lol

No. You should get a package direct from DME or through Orbitz that has your DME vouchers and luggage tags. These generally are sent out around five weeks before your trip begins and arrive within a week or so. Leave a bit more time if they are coming through Orbitz.

IF the DME bus you are put on is going to both AK and POP (which happens frequently, IIRC) then this might work. If it stops at POP first (which it did the last time we stayed at AKL) then you all can just get off and no one will be the wiser. If you stop at AKL first, then you probably can just stay on unless the driver is being really attentive. I'm not sure how well the latter scenario will work.

If AKL and POP aren't on the same route when you are riding (and the routing is not set in stone), then it won't work

Bottom line, IMO, is I wouldn't rely on being able to do this although it might be possible. No way to tell until you are there, however.

3. WIll the luggage all make it to the right places?
If you tag your bags they will make it to the right places barring any unforeseen circumstances.

I like DME and hate driving when I'm on vacation. YMMV.

I will start, but others will need to chime in as well. To set up Magical Express you need to call the Disney reservation number. You give them your names and the resort you are staying at. I think you had better check with them regarding your Mom's reservation. I suspect they will want her name on the reservation, not yours. About 3 weeks before you go you will get a packet from ME with vouchers for each person in your party. Each person gets their own voucher and your Mom will need one with her name on it. You will also get one yellow luggage tag per person.

You are not allowed to have ME just deliver your luggage. If you are not riding the ME bus, you can't send just the luggage. At least some of the people in your party will need to take the bus.
