ME questions

We are flying a participating airline (AirTrans) in June and I was wondering about some things:

1) Will POR let you, or print for you, you're boarding passes?

2) Our plane arrives at 12:30 p.m., we take ME to POR. We want to get to DTD right after we check-in and I'm wondering if our room is ready, will they bring our bags to the room? How long does this take? If it's not ready, will they bring them when it is, so that when we return, the bags are there?

3) If our room isn't ready, can we store our carry-on bags with them securely? We will have a laptop & I don't know how secure they actually are. Would you trust them?

4) Should we call in advance and ask for an early check-in, say 12:30 or 1:00, just to be sure our room is ready when we get there? Can you do that?

Wow!!! I didn't know how truly uninformed I was until I started typing ALLLLLL of this.

Thanks,
Tracy

1. I am not sure, I usually do SW check in on my cell and print the passes at the airport.

2. If your room is ready and you used the ME yellow tags, your bags will go there when they arrive. If it is not ready when they arrive, they will send them there when it is ready.

3. We take our laptop and store it will bell services if our room is not ready or on the day we leave, since we leave late. They have locked boxes they keep them in. Just make sure you tell them it is a laptop so they lock it up, and when you pick up your stuff, tell them you had a laptop with it, so they know to retrieve it from the locked area.

4. Calling early won't make sure it is ready for you. I would not even bother. Plus, you need to show ID to actually check in, so I dont think they can check you in by phone. If they have some rooms ready, they will probably offer those to you when you get there.

Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

ETA: I just realized you are flying Airtran. You can do RAC (resort airline checkin). When you check in at POR for your flight home, they will give you the boarding passes and check your bags right there. We did this for Delta in February.

2P2P did a great job of answering your questions. Please don't confuse "participating airline" with ME. That only goes for the RAC (Resort Airline Check-in) when you leave your resort. ALL airlines can use ME, just some may check bags at their airport to their home destination, as 2P2P has stated.

If you don't choose to use RAC, POR will print your boarding passes for you at the lobby concierge desk. I did it myself there before Airtran was participating in RAC.

You cannot ask for an early check in. If your room is ready, GREAT! If not, store your carry ons with bell services and go have fun. Your stuff will be brought to your room when it is ready. We went to dinner at another resort and returned to find our bags sitting there waiting for us in our room. It is great!

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much for answering my questions. We aren't going until June, but I'm a "little" obsessed with knowing details, etc. I feel much better now.
