Is it possible to take ME to another hotel rather than to your own hotel? We arrive around 5:00 and want to do dinner at Kona at 7:00 ish. Not sure there will be enough time to get to POR, check in and then get to the Poly. If not, what is the time travel time to resorts these days. We took ME over two years ago and it did take quite some time, but I was wondering if things were different now.

TIA!!

DME is responsible for getting you to your resort, no place else. You can not take it to a park or a different resort. It is tied to your resort reservation, so even if you tried to get on a different bus at MCO, the driver would check your voucher and redirect you to the correct bus.
If you are concerned about being late for your dinner, I would call Dining and see if you can push your ADR up a bit or plan to take a cab to dinner.

Take a cab it's only about $15 and should get you there if you have no other delays.

Yeh, an ADR at a different resort scheduled 2 hours after scheduled flight arrival is too close a call for my taste.

The average time from airplane exit to resort drop-off is 70 minutes. So let's assume your flight arrives on-time at 5, then it takes you 5 minutes to deplane. If you get to POR at the 70-minute average mark, it's now 6:15 p.m. If you MUST check-in first (such as if you're on the Disney Dining Plan and will be using DDP credits for dinner), that could easily take 10 minutes even if no one is in line ahead of you. So the very fastest you'd get out of POR lobby and out to the bus stop would be 6:25 p.m.

If you're lucky enough for that to happen, then I agree a taxi will be your best bet if you can't push back the time of the ADR. If you wait for a bus, your wait time for the next MK bus will be anywhere from 0-20 minutes. SO it could be as late as 6:45 p.m. when you get on the bus, and then you'll get to the MK bus area by 6:55 or 7:00 p.m. From there, you'll need to take the monorail around to Poly, or take the boat that goes to Grand Floridian or Poly. Either of those can easily take 15-20 minutes including waiting time, so now you're talking about getting to Poly at 7:20 p.m., then getting to the restaurant itself, etc.

Personally, I wouldn't want to start my vacation by rushing, but that's just me.

ENJOY!:goodvibes

Thank you! It sounds like we may have to rethink our plans by pushing the reservation back. However, taking the cab from the POR to the Poly is a definite good option anyway.
