We're trying to get our transportation ironed out for April. It looks like it's cheaper for us to fly in Sat than Sun but we have ressies for OKW for Sun. If we rent a car to get to OKW can we take ME back to the airport?

Yes, you can take ME one way. My boyfriend did just what you are doing and we booked his return once we arrived at OKW. I have taken it several times just to the resort.

Is it possible to do this - fly in Sat and stay by the airport. Then go back to the airport Sunday and take ME to OKW. I've been checking one day rentals with National (pick up at MCO and drop off at Dolphin) and an intermediate is $62.99!

Yes. You can use DME to travel from Orlando Int'l Airport (MCO) to your Disney resort on your check-in day, even if you flew in one or more days earlier. There are often good weekend rates at full-service airport hotels because these hotels primarily serve business travellers. Most airport hotels have free shuttle service between MCO and the hotel (tips for the driver are appropriate, especially is he or she handles your bags). Staying at an airport hotel with a nice pool could be a relaxing way spend your travel day after you land at MCO.

Another idea would be a book Saturday night at a value or moderate Disney resort, which would allow you to use DME on your flight arrival day. Disney will transfer your bags from one Disney resort to another. It's appropriate to tip the person who assists you with your luggage at both ends.

DVC member services just told me that you can't take ME the day after you arrive - it has to be attached to your incoming flight. :(

The DVC MS agent with whom you spoke is mistaken. The DVC MS agents are experts regarding DVC, but they're not necessarily experts regarding Disney's Magical Express (DME).

To talk with DME experts, call DME Guest Services at 1-866-599-0951.

You can use DME to travel from MCO to your WDW resort on your resort check-in day, regardless of how you arrive at MCO. Of course, most guests arrive by air. But you can also arrive by hotel shuttle, private car, taxi, rental car shuttle, or MCO Hyatt elevator.

If the DVC MS agent insists on flight information, just supply a flight number for a morning arrival on your resort check-in day. You're not cheating.

The bad news is that you'll be dragging your luggage around the airport if you're not arriving by air on your resort check-in day. The DME driver will put your bags in the luggage hold of the motorcoach (tips are appropriate).

And HOW do they know what your incoming flight is? If they continue to tell you stupid things like this go to the airline websites and find a flight you like. Tell them you will be arriving on date x on flight Y. (they have NO way of knowing that you made all this up, Disney is not hooked in to the airline computers LOL!) Then just check in and get on the bus with your luggage.

When you make your DME arrangements through MS, just have a flight number/time of a flight that gets into MCO at about the time you will want to leave on Sat morning. If you want to leave the airport at say, 8:00 am, find an arriving flight that gets in at about 7:30 or so. Give them, MS, the flight info from that flight..you'll be all set. You won't be able to use those nifty yellow tags but that's no biggie. Just take your luggage with you, to the bus, and it will go underneath the bus.

I also e-mailed guest services - I'll see what they have to say. I found a National car with a code for $39 ($47 with taxes) so that's a little easier to swallow but I'd rather not have to pay that $47.

I booked through dollar and only paid 22.99 for an intermediate. I was just there in December. They have a drop off at the Grosvenor. I did exactly as you describe. I rented at MCO, drove to my resort, dropped the car off at Grosvenor a few days later, and caught ME back to MCO the day I left ... no problemos!

We are staying a week and with ME I really didn't want to get a car. I can drop National off at the Dolphin which is very convenient.
