I have been thinking about renting a car when we arrive, dropping it off at the resort before we leave and taking ME back for our flight home. Is this allowed?

Sure you can only go one way. Do you realize by doing it this way you will have to carry your luggage in your rental car?

Yes, I have been thinking about that. We really like to go to Nasa when we travel. I am trying to decide if I should rent a car at the airport or simply rent a car on-site for a couple of days.

Decisions...decisions

For our trip, we took ME to the resort, then rented a car from Alamo for two days. We got it for $23 a day. They (Alamo) picked us up at MGM, took us to the car care center, we picked up the car, and drove back to the park. Went to NASA the next day. Then we took it back to the car care center at 7:30am and got a ride to EPCOT. It worked so well.

By the way, we went to NASA on Sunday. We did not have to fight any rush hour traffic coming or going. It was wonderful! NASA was a blast and we are so glad we did it.

I am doing this same thing in September. Renting a car at Nat'l at the airport (avoiding ME and the nightmare stories I have heard of 12 hour waits for luggage!!!). Then, 4 days later I am dropping it off at the Dolphin National Counter. It is cheaper and I think easier. We will brave ME on the way home...if I get stuck in Orlando, oh well! ;)

Thank you for the tip! Sounds like the way to go!

If your booking this through disneyworld.com there is an option that reads the following:

I would like M.E. for my Arrival
I would like M.E. for my Departure.

Just check the Departure box, and then if you have your flight info they'll make you enter that.
