Somewhere in September I started to feel that I would really like to go away for a week of R&R. Unfortunately when I proposed this to DH he told me that there was no chance of him being able to get away for a week as his business is just starting to pick up and he would be very busy till the end of the year
..
Luckily he understood how I felt, so thats how I got to go to WDW for a week solo. After I stopped feeling guilty
(about 2 minutes or so) I started planning.
It was supposed to be a cheap trip
less guilt that way!
Im a DVC member so I called first to see where I could get accomodation. For the first week I was looking at (mid october) everything was full, but my second choice, first week of november was possible, I got a studio at Old Key West, my home resort.
Having that sorted I looked in to flights. There also, it was pretty full already. We prefer to fly United, as we collect the frequent flyer miles and can get kicked up into business class every now and then, but that flight was a lot more than I wanted to pay. Finally I settled with Continental, in via Newark, out through Houston, but good times & connections and a reasonable price. (Theres only one charter company that flies to Orlando, after 2 bad experiences we now prefer to transfer, it costs more time, but we are on holiday as soon as we get on the plane ad theres an upgrade to look forward too every so often!)
The next thing to do was to convince myself that it was lovely and warm in Orlando, and that I only needed t-shirts and shorts. In other words: Pack Light!! I wanted to have carry on luggage only, and on the way out I managed it!
And finally (and most important) I had to tell JJ that he was coming with me to WDW and that he had better get is mickey-ears on!!
I haven't really got any plans. I have got some meets scheduled with DIS'ers - Rhys & Jessica, Sk8belle and Lisa, I want to go to the DVC member update at Saratoga Springs, and if I can get transport I might, ... who am I kidding, I'm going to do my best to get to the premium outlets to go shopping!! Otherwise I'm just going to go where the fancy takes me, enjoy the Food & Wine festival and relax!!
