Had some what I hope is good news today.
The surgeon feels that the healing is going well and he ok'd my going back on Chemo. He dug another area out today but he took out only the dead tissue at the ends and there is good healing underneath. I knew he would debride a little so I was ready for it (ativan is my new friend)
I will still have the nurses twice a day until the wound is closed so they will work on the healing. they asked the Dr to change the order again so I will have a different packing material this week. the saline worked with the medication only so long. Last week I had Dakins solution (4 cups water with 5 tablespoons bleach) I smelled like a laundramat. This stuff is like soaking in the dead sea, it is high amounts of salts in the gauze. Good think I have no nervers in the breast, that sounds like it would hurt.
I see the Oncologist on Thursday and he will set up the Chemo schedule for me. I am guessing I will start back on Dec 9. that means my 4th and final A/C will be on Dec 23rd, just in time to ruin my Christmas Dinner. Chemo makes everything taste like you are sucking on a lead pipe. No matter what you eat or drink it tastes like metal pipe.
I will let you all know how this goes, and pray that I can keep my counts up this time. They are 7,800 right now. Not what they should be, but they have gone up 200 since last week. Peggie

Hang in there, Margarita! Sounds like things are finally having a positive light.
Keep in mind, many times leftover Christmas dinner tastes better anyway!

LOVE YOU!
HUGS!!!!

Here is something I just had to share. I kind of found it funny in my own sick way.
The week before surgery I went to see my lawyer to get my will made. He said he would call me when it was finished.
Months have gone by and I hadn't heard from my lawyer. So today I called his office and asked to speak to him.
My lawyer died of a massive coronary the day I had my surgery.
I was able to pick up my will today, luckily his daughter is a partner and she was able to do the rest of the work, sign it and get it witnessed etc...
So, the snowglobes go to Christopher and my Santa collection goes to David. Sean didn't ask for any personal item so he will get to split the cash ith his brothers.
No one asked for pins! I am crushed. But I did give them Ed's name, address, phone # and photo just in case he tries to hide from them so they can find him in the parks. Ed promised that when the time comes he will help the boys sell off my pins and I will hold him to that promise.
Not that I am planning on going anywhere, but...............Peggie

Peggie, that is oh so sad and hilarious at the same time. Reminds me of my current favorite little quote:

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then it is hilarious.

Sounds like things are finally moving in the right direction!

Sorry to hear about your Christmas dinner. You can make up for it next year by eating twice as much. :smooth:

Those ungrateful kids! None of them asked for your pins! Don't they realize how many lines you stood in, and the horrible weather conditions, and the hours spent to get those colorful little bits of metal! :earseek: On the other hand, I'm sure the whole pin craze will be over by the time anyone is reading your will -- sometime in 2050! :p

Keep the good news coming!

Peggie,

Glad to hear you have had some good news and will be completing your chemo. You continue to be in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Michael

I am so glad to see you getting back to your old self. Don't you love life's little ironies.

I am soo glad there is an end to the chemo tunnel, I hope it goes smoothly.

As always you remain in our prayers.

Hi Peggi,

I haven't been posting much, but I have been reading your posts and keeping you in prayer. It is so encouraging to read how well you are doing. I pray this Holiday brings you many blessings and much to be looking forward to.

Fred & I are hoping to see you and the "Gang" for New Years!!

Much love,
Winnie
