After reading so many posts here on the boards, I decided to call the DME toll-free number to verify that our information was in their system. I've called CRO many times and they always seem to have it there, so I assumed that DME would have it as well.
The gentleman I spoke to was very pleasant and very up front about things. He told me that one of the bits of information that is getting lost in their system is the specifics of the flight people are taking. That concerned me because I feared that WDW wouldn't have enough buses to deal with people arriving on flights if they didn't have the accurate info in their system.
What he explained to me was this: The DME office only deals with the "printing" of the information on the tags and booklets. As long as the CRO knows you're arriving, they'll be expecting you to take ME, whether you have tags or not. The DME office is supposed to get that flight information downloaded to their system from the CRO so they can handle the preparation of the tags/books through their vendor. As some of the data is going poof for some reservations, the tickets are sometimes being printed with no flight information, erroneous flight information or the correct information. He said that there's a number to call if the flight info is missing or wrong, but that it wouldn't affect the logistics for the buses as the CRO would still have the correct information (assuming you gave it to them and the CM put it into their system correctly).
He assured me they are working to resolve these issues and also told me that over 2,000 tag/booklet packs were printed and "Fedex'd" off to people in the last day or so, which seems to be true as some people have mentioned on these boards that they have received Fedex packages with their tags.
We leave next Thursday morning (although we're leaving on Wednesday and staying overnight near the airport), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the package will arrive. Even so, we'll still take the shuttle, although we may choose to collect our own bags... just to be sure they get to the CMs handling the baggage transport to the resorts.
