I was able to change my ressies from CBR to POFQ about 2 weeks ago for my trip on Sep 7th. YAY!! We already have luggage tags for CBR, and when I changed the ressie the CM told me not to worry, that he would fix our ME ressies. But I have not gotten new luggage tags, and now it is so close, I really don't think I will get new ones. Will my luggage make it to POFQ, or will it go to CBR, and cause problems? TIA!!!

If they have the CBR tags on them, they will go to CBR. Call them again and see if they will express them to you. They did for us a couple of years ago. We had them in two days.

If not, then don't tag your luggage. You can either retrieve them yourselves from baggage claim at MCO and take them on the bus yourself or you can check in at the DME counter, desribe your luggage (or better yet take a picture of it before you leave home and give them the picture) and have them go to baggage claim and claim it for you. Be sure to put something unique on your luggage to make it easier to spot.

As far as I know (Eric? Diane? Chip & Dale? Cranbiz?), the bar code on your luggage tags is identical to the bar code on your DME voucher. After you check in at the Welcome Center and your voucher is scanned for the bus, similar scans are done on the luggage tags attached to the luggage in the sorting center. This SHOULD send your luggage to the resort where you're actually staying. You can, for ease of mind, do one of the following:
- Carefully cross out the CBR designation and write in Port Orleans French Quarter, using a Sharpie or similar pen, being sure not to approach the bar code.
- Leave the luggage tags off; when you get to the Welcome Center and are asked if you attached the tags and say "no", the CM will ask for your claim check numbers and show you a book with a WIDE variety of luggage so you can show what yours resembles. Magical Express will claim and deliver your luggage.
- Yeah, okay, leave off the tags and pick up your luggage yourself. Be advised that waiting for your luggage to come off the plane will delay your check-in at the Welcome Center and your ultimate arrival at your resort, and you will be responsible for tipping anyone who assists with your luggage.

We did this before and even with the original yellow tags our luggage went to the correct resort. Disney told us they do not look at the name on the tag it is the bar code that is important and that info was updated when we changed resorts. We did cross of the wrong resort name and write in the new one with a sharpie, mainly just for our peace of mind.

Ah...don't like being listed after Eric, but that's neither here nor there.
In any case...it does NOT matter what resort is listed on your tags. The reservation info is in the bar code. As long as Disney has the correct info, it will be correct on the bar code. When you changed your reservation, it automatically changed what will come up when they scan that barcode. The barcode is attached to your reservation number.

scanmom - I just posted this info on another thread here - but this may help you.

On my regular luggage tags I write:

my name
name of resort traveling to
phone number of resort traveling to
dates of stay at the resort.

It could not hurt.

I feel better about it now... I will cross out the CBR, and write in POFQ with a sharpie, just to be sure. I didn't think about them using the barcode!
