Our plane lands in Orlando at 6:40 p.m. This is the first time we have arrived in the evening. Luggage can take 5 hours to arrive (or longer....ASMo took 12!) and I read on TGM that luggage that arrives after 11p is delivered the following day. Am I safe in assuming that we will get ours the night we arrive?

we were ther in July and were told it would arrive 2-3 hours later- we went to parks when we got there but when we returned 3 hours later it was there- I am thinking you should get it the same night.

You'll probably get it, but keep calling down if you haven't.

I'm also wondering because our plane doesn't land until 7:30 pm. I'm planning on being prepared with pj's etc. in the carryon, just in case.

You can always get your luggage yourself after you get off the plane and take it with you to the bus - you don't have to check in at Magical Express right away, they just take people as they come. With all the restrictions, I'll be getting my luggage myself...I can't be without my lotions and cremes!! ;)

I had read that they luggage would be held also. In Feb we didn't get to the resort until almost 9 and had our stuff in our carry on. We went to bed assuming luggage would be delivered the next day (if you read it on the DIS it must be true!). Sometime between midnight and 1am there was a KNOCK ON THE DOOR!!! They delivered that late, and knocked even though we had the Do Not Disturb sign.

DON'T assume! If you want delivery to wait, tell the desk. If you want to make sure you get it no matter what time, let them know that also. Always plan to not have your luggage for a day anytime you fly and carry what you have to have in your carry on (except no liquids or gels right now).

Through reading the boards, I understood that 1AM was the cut-off for luggage delivery! We arrived @ MCO around 11:15am and our luggage was in our room by 1:30pm! I think we were lucky! It was great! Hope that helps!

We just used ME on Aug 20. We arrived at the airport at 6:20pm. We arrived at our room at 7:10pm. Luggage was there 2 hours later. I was very impressed!

Gardengrocer.com came within 5 minutes of us checking in, too. I was thrilled.

We arrived at about 8 and got our luggage at midnight only because we went walking around the property and it just had came. We learned our lesson, get in earlier that day and do the parks or something.

If I were flying into MCO anytime after 6:00 pm, I think I would most likely go get my own bags. I wouldn't use the yellow luggage tags on them. I have used DME about 3-4 times now, and had very good experiences with it. However, it would be just my luck that it would be my luggage that didn't get to my room until after I had gone to bed. I would rather take the 20 mins or so to retrieve the bags and bring them with me. That way I would have them as soon as I got into my room.
However, if you choose to have DME deliver your bags, and you are concerned about the delivery time, you can tell the front desk that the bags should be held until the next morning. I would also give bell services a heads up on that also. Sure would hate to have them knocking on my door at midnight on my travel to WDW day!!
