ME, luggage and rental car question

We have decided to rent a car again----I just like having the freedom of a car. Can we still send our luggage through ME upon arrival? I have seen a post from someone who has done this on some forum that I frequent but I can't for the life of me find the post now. Thanks!!

ME is not intended to be a luggage delivery service and Disney states such. You may check the ME sticky @ the top of the board for some information about what people have done in the real world.

Personally, I would never risk it - I would be afraid that something would happen to my bags and they would never make it.

Does everyone in your party have to go with you to get the rental car? I have found it easier for my hubby and kiddos to take DME and I pick up the rental car and just meet them at the resort. We tag our bags for DME and the three of them take the shuttle to the resort.

Only the "authorized drivers" need to go to the rental car counter. After the paperwork is done, no one is obliged to ride in the rental car with one driver.
