Me Likey My D90...

So...I really really like the new D90. I love the better high ISO capabilities, I love the easier menu buttons and I really love the fact that all of my lenses now AF. Originally, I thought I liked MF and would continue doing it even after getting the new camera. That being said, I do like MF...but you can bet that 9 times out of 10 now, I'll be keeping the lenses on AF rather than MF. I'm a sellout, I know.

Unfortunately, I haven't really had a chance to shoot anything with it yet. For Valentine's Day DH told me that he knew I wanted to take some pictures, so he arranged for a trip to a local winery for a tour and wine tasting. The weather was nice and I was ready to go----after an hour and a half of driving, we couldn't find the place!!! We turned around and headed home and got home after dark, so after our long weekend---I've got nothin!

I did manage to take a few shots of some roses that DH got me for V-Day (just color adjustment in PP), I wanted to test out the macro lens I got for Christmas. Here are some shots....boring, I know, but the only shots I have produced thus far!

I like this one because in some weird way, the center portion of the petal with the water droplets reminds me of a finger. The flesh tone, the wrinkles, etc. Kind of gross.

It's called Alba Vineyard, it's in Northwest NJ---Hunterdon County. We know how to get there now, so I'll be cashing in my IOU for the trip once the nicer weather rolls around.

Never heard of that one. There is a new winery near my home called the Laurita winery. A LOT of people get lost trying to find that place.

Love the macro lenses. You can really have fun with them (great shots, btw!)

I ordered it from KEH but never got it. I ordered it a little over a week ago and it is still reading as "pending" even though they put a hold on my money. I called them up and they said "Oh we're sorry---your order hasn't shipped because it ended up not being a 70-210 Bargain, it's a 70-210 Ugly...no one called you about it??"

This is the second time I've tried ordering through KEH and the second time I've come up empty handed. They get one more try---three strikes and you're out, right??

That's too bad about KEH. I've had nothing but good luck and service from them. My problem has been Adorama and a much lower grading than I would have expected. At least KEH didn't send you the ugly for the bargain price - that would have been really bad.

I agree about KEH, everyone has such good experiences with them---I'm definitely not writing them off yet. I definitely appreciate that when I called, the guy on the phone told me it was an "ugly" instead of "bargain" and advised me that I probably didn't want it...I really respected that, that he didn't try to convince me to get that lens or even try to pressure me into getting a different one (like maybe an EX+ for $100 more)
