I am going to WDW June 13-20 and I am flying Air Tran for the first time, the issue is that the cost to check luggage really is not to much so I was thinking of checking one bag. The problem is that the flight is to land at 9:30pm and I read that ME runs until 10 pm. Would it be best to just do all carry on's cause if I have to go to baggage claim and get my luggage then it would kind of defeat the purpose of them getting my luggage. Has anyone traveled Air Tran, I usually fly Delta or Spirit, I hope it is all good.

As long as your flight is on time, they will collect the bags as scheduled. I would suggest packing everything you need for the first night in your carryon and put the DND on the door and call bell services and let them know to hold your bags so they aren't knocking late at night. You can then call in the morning for bell services to deliver your bag. ME runs all night, they just don't pick up luggage for passengers arriving after 10PM.

We fly on AirTran several times a year and have always had great service. It's our airline of choice, because they offer nonstop flights to MCO out of our nearest airport.

We have an Owner's Locker, so we usually only take carry-ons. When we've checked luggage, though, we just collect it from the baggage claim and take it on the ME bus with us.

DME bus service runs 24-7. DME luggage transfer service runs between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. If your flight arrives after 10 p.m., you still can take DME to your resort, but you should collect your own luggage.

I fly Airtran coming in late all the time. I find if I get off the plane, head over to the main building, go down to the carousel and use the restroom right across from it - come out and generally within a minute or two the bags start coming out from the flight.

I really don't find it time consuming at all to pick up that bag and then head to ME.
