ME - Late Arrival - use luggage tag?

My flight arrives at 10:37pm. I am traveling alone with my 10 year DD (DH is coming 2 days later). When I booked ME - they told me "pick up your luggage, they don't pick up luggage after 10pm". Is this new? I have arrived late in the evening before - and they just delivered the next day.

I don't care if I don't get my luggage until the next morning. At that time of night - my DD and I will just want to get to the hotel. I don't want to deal with going to baggage claim to get our bag.

I fully planned on packing PJs and swimsuits and toothbrushes in our carry ons ... Any thoughts?

If you arrive after 10pm, you will need to get your own luggage. It's not new as I have been seen it posted here for at least a year and most likely more. There is simply no one THERE to pull the luggage after that time.

Thanks. I was just wondering if they would take it in the morning... which I am fine with since we are just going to go to the hotel and go to bed.

One other year we took Magical express and arrived close to midnight - my bags showed up the next morning just fine. But it seems now they are saying to get your luggage. Oh well... maybe I will ship it. It is just a quick trip...

You're correct...if you arrive after 10pm, and your bags are tagged, they will be put aside until the next morning and then delivered to your resort. I'm not sure what time they start up the luggage transfer service at MCO though..might be as early as 5am, but again, not sure.

So...pack that carryon bag with stuff for the night and a change of clothes for the next day. Otherwise, you will be waiting around your resort for those bags to arrive...and that might not happen until 9ish.

But, in short, DME tagged bags are put aside until the next morning and then delivered to the resort rooms.

Thanks Goofy4Tink. That is what I was hoping. This is a "pool only" (no parks) mini-trip (we are heading to some friends in Orlando on Friday morning) - so as long as we have our bathing suits in our carry-ons for Wednesday morning - we are happy. I'll throw in a couple toothbrushes as well! 12 days - and we are there. Yeah me!

If you arrive after 10 PM and fail to report to the carousels, unclaimed yellow tagged bags will be put into the Magical Express system at daybreak but you might not be able to file a claim at your resort if the bag does not arrive.

When you do go to the carousels after 10 PM and your bags are not there, file a claim before leaving for the DME welcoming area.

I will debate how to do this over the next few days. I realize that if it does not show... it will my issue. My former MIL forgot a bag at baggage claim one time and did not realize it until she got to her hotel. The airline would not help... she had to go back to get it. (It was her fault - so it was her responsibility) So - I realize that might be my issue if I don't get my bags after 10pm. I will determine how "lucky" I am feeling - and then decide if I want to chance morning delivery.
