I booked ME a few days ago for my trip in August. I understand the procedure for participating airlines, but am unclear about the procedure for nonparticipating airlines. My husband and I will be flying SWA. I tried to look up some info, but all I could find were instructions on what to do if you're flying with a participating airline. So if anyone knows what's to be done with nonparticipating airlines, info would be GREATLY appreciated.

As long as you are signed up for ME all you do is meet the bus at your resort with your luggage. The driver will stow the luggage in the bottom of the bus. When you get to the airport you take your luggage and check in curbside or at your airlines ticket counter like you always did.

There are many good threads on ME here on the transportation board. I suggest doing a search. You will find lots of great information.

Going to Disney the procedure is the same for all airlines.

If you received special Magical Express luggage tags, you may put these on your luggage regardless of what airline you are taking to Disney (domestic flights), and the luggage will be delivered to your room.

If you did not receive the luggage tags you should still go to the Magical Express welcoming area first. Depending on staff availability a Disney staff member will arrange to have the luggage put on automatic delivery. (In some cases you will have to go back to the carousel, possibly with a staff member with you.) Although nothing prevents you from fetching your luggage yourself first, you may be required to "re-check your luggage" with Magical Express before boarding the bus.

Returning home, if your airline is not represented at your resort, you would bring your luggage to the Magical Express bus and check the luggage at the airport normally. At some resorts and depending on staff availability, you may be able to have boarding passes printed in advance for non-participating airlines (not at the Magical Express desk).
