ME/Bus service vs. renting a car

Ok, just my two cents worth....we don't rent a car or take the ME bus...we always reserve with Tiffany Town Car....it is $90.00 round trip with the $5.00 coupon on-line (plus tip) and they give you free car seats, and a free stop at a grocery store. They are waiting for you at baggage claim when you arrive and pick you back up at the resort about 2 1/2 hours before your flight. It is truly awesome because there is no waiting AT ALL we literally get our luggage and walk 2 minutes to the car....we just love to get where we are going with just us and no waiting for others;) . The cars are beautiful and comfortable. We just find that there is no need for a rental car when we stay on property, and we love to shop on our time, and we love to GET THERE!!! Again, just my two cents!! :) Although I did say we "always" go with Tiffany, we did rent with Happy Limo last year:sad2: and they literally LEFT US STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT:sad2: ...to make a long story short, we called Tiffany on the spot and they had a car there in literally 10 minutes....I would truly recommend them!! Also, when going on your "date night" I would use the Disney Busses, honestly, they are very good. We have never had any major issues with them, and on vacation, DH and I like others to drive us on our "dates"!!! Anyways, if you want to look at their website it is:

Have a GREAT time!

before kids, i would have said ME and bus service. so easy and convienient and nice not to have to worry about driving while on vay-cay.

now that we have rugrats, we would never go without renting a car. it was very affordable and not a big deal to haul carseats. i LOVED that we could just come and go as we pleased - if one of our kiddos was melting down, it was a quick jaunt to the car and a zip back to the resort to relax. no waits for busses in the heat, no folding up our double stroller and all of our bags and trying to navigate all of THAT on the bus with two small kids, AND THEN the possibility of having to stand and hold two squirmy toddlers while on a moving bus. no thanks :) !

not only that, in the evenings when we did leave the parks, the lines for the busses looked daunting! i'll bet we were back into our rooms and settled before that line cleared out...

we also like to dine at other resorts so that we can scope them out. dining at other resorts while using the disney bus system gets a bit more complicated and uses up LOTS more vacation time.

There is one more benefit of riding the buses. You get to meet people from around the world. And now that my sons are 17 and 13, I do enjoy seeing the small children on the bus all excited on their first day to a park. Just some of that magic stuff:wizard:

Our kids are 6, 2 and 2 and I was SO happy to have our car this past Christmas week. :worship: To me, one hard and fast rule for parents should be that of you are outnumbered by little ones--go for the car!

The few times we did take the bus we were cramped within 5 sq.feet of each other and my kids couldn't keep their hands off each other. :sad2:

Now, yours are a bit older but still young enough that I think you'll appreciate the car.

Another great bonus of having a car is that transportation to other resorts for meals was a breeze. We at at Boma, Kona Cafe, O'hanas, Pepper Market and Chef Mickeys. Using Disney transportation we would have had to make some sort of connection to get to each of those places. We were really able to use the DDP at the resaurants that we wanted w/o having to worry about the trips to/from those resorts.

When your kids are older--and more patient--the bus is a great option.

We have always found the bus system to be adequate. There is always a bus willing to take you where you have to go...eventually. For the next two trips we are renting a car because we are doing lots of stuff offsite. If you plan on spending all your time in the park and dont have lots of baby stuff I would just use the bus.
