ME Booked already but Waitlist comes through last minute....

We have a 10 day trip coming up in Nov. What happen if our Waitlist comes through for another resort, at the beginning of our stay, and our ME packet has arrived already for the previous resort. Thanks for any help.:goodvibes
 
Simple - just get on the bus to your confirmed resort when you get to the airport.
 
Are you asking because the luggage tags say something different? I've read that you can take a marker and change that info. Not sure.

Exactly. I've read that as well. I assume the number on the luggage tag on the bag would be re routed to your correct resort. Anyone have any experience in this department.

I would explain the situation to the people at the ME check in at the ariport I am sure they would put me on the correct line reguardless what my ME packet says.

Yes, we were actually told to do this when a last minute waitlist came through. I would still call and update the ME, we were all ready to use the modified tags, but the new ones got to us in time. Just let the CM's at the podium know that the resort changed when you get there so they put you on the correct bus.
 
all you need to do is call DME or have member services do this for you... but honestly being last minute i'd rather speak to DME myself...the tags all have barcodes to be scanned; that is what DME uses to determine where the bags go. They will change the resorts in their system and you will be fine.

Now if you feel better you can also cross off the name of the resort on the tags as a secondary check and write the new resort name.

and yes, we have done the above before due to changes and all was fine.

I assume that you will cancel you old reservation if your wait list comes through. That will also cancel your DME reservation.

If your wait list comes through for another resort, call Disney's Magical Express Guest Services right away at 1-866-599-0951.

Make sure they have your new reservation information. Your DME reservation must be associated with a valid, current WDW resort reservation.

It's not that easy. If you don't contact DME in advance, you're technically arriving at MCO without a valid DME reservation.

Yes, if you have vouchers to another resort, the DME welcome desk will probably be able to make the necessary changes, but you're much better off making a phone call from home as soon as the wait list comes through. There may even be time to expedite another set of luggage tags to you.

We recently had a similar situation and did exactly what the poster quoted above is recommending. We spoke directly to ME and were told that they had changed it in they system. They also told us that it wasn't necessary to mark anything on our tags, since they scan the luggage to know where it should go. As long as you call ME and have it changed in their system, you should be fine!
