ME and cruise line

Our family is planning to go to a WDW resort for 3 days and then going on the DCL for 4 nights, then going to our timeshare in Orlando for a few days.
My question is; I'm pretty sure I can take the ME bus from our WDW resort to the cruise but when we leave the cruise to go to our timeshare, can we take the ME bus from the DCL to the Orlando airport? I was thinking it might be less expensive to do that and then take a taxi or car service from the airport to the timeshare. Can someone tell me if this is possible?
Thanks for your help!

DME goes between WDW resorts and MCO only. It does not go to the port at all (either from WDW or from MCO). There are DCL transfers that you can buy to take you between MCO and the port (and possibly between WDW resorts and the port), but they are not part of DME and they are not free.

The best bet is to look into car rental or car service from WDW to the Port. DCL transfers from MCO to the Port and return to MCO runs $69.00 per person. If you are over 3 or 4 persons in your group you can find car service for less than DCL. THe car service could also take you straight to your timeshare.

Thank you for the information. I don't know that much about ME since I have only used them once. I guess I had thought that they went to the cruise line because I thought I had seen DCL transportation signs at the airport and I see the buses with the Cruise stuff on them picking people up at the resorts. Guess the buses are more of an advertisement.
Ok, now I have to pick out a car service. We used to use Luxury Limousine but had 2 bad experiences with them and took the ME on our last Disney trip. Back to the threads for car service advice...

I would stay away from the limo services. Many of the drivers are hourly paid and therefor don't seem as friendly or helpful as those drivers who own small independent companies. Limo companies are usually way to expensive for the 45 to 90 minute ride to the port from MCO or WDW. A town car, SUV or van would be sufficient for your family. The car service vehicles, not limos, run from $180.00 to $250.00 round trip for up to 10 passengers.

Many of the good ones are mentioned on the boards in the transportation thread or maybe if you go to the DCL thread below you could find some of the good companies.

There are DCL busses that take you to Port Canaveral from the airport or Disney resorts. They aren't free like Disney's Magical Express is.

DCL does have transportation and they offer to every cruise passenger. It just costs you money to use it unlike the Magical Express offering to the resorts. You can sign up for it and use Disney busses and they will pick you up at the resort and you can also use it to get from the port back to MCO, but as mentioned they charge a fee per person to do that.

OT: Occasionally a bus doing Magical Express is not marked Magical Express. Plain white buses and Disney Cruise Line busses have been used occasionally. When returning to the airport, verify that each bus in the DME pickup area is not yours before backing away from it.

DCL land-see guests arriving at the airport and sea-land guests going home use the same buses as DME guests.

The price of "DCL ground transportation" is the same even if you use alternate transportation between the airport and Disney.

You guys are always so helpful! That's why I can spend hours on this site! I've decided that since there are three of us, it will be about the same amount of money to hire a car service as it would be to do the Disney transportation and with the service we can get to the port and on the boat as early as possible. Thanks again!
