Hi all!
We've decided to come down a day earlier than our ressie at BWV due to flight prices. We're considering staying at Swan/ Dolphin that night. Do you think we'd still be able to use ME and just have our drop off at the BWV and walk over to the dolphin? Anyone have any experience with this?

Nope. DME doesn't go to the S/D. And if you don't have an active resort reservation, you aren't allowed to use DME. So, you can't ride DME until the day your BW reservation starts.
You could book one night at Pop, and then take a cab over to BW the next morning....less than $15!! You could use DME to get you to POP.
Otherwise, you'll have to pay to get from MCO to the S/D, and then haul your bags over to BW the next day...I've done it, it's not bad unless you have a lot of luggage!!!

goofy4tink is right. You can't use DME transportation from the airport until on or after your check-in date at your Disney resort.

Another option is to stay at an airport hotel the first night. This can be an especially good option if you're arriving at Orlando International in the late afternoon or evening.

The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is right in the airport. The outdoor pool has a scenic runway view. Have a nice dinner at one of the Hyatt's restaurants (or in any of the airport restaurants outside of security). Then, the next morning, take DME on your Disney check-in day.

There are also a number of upscale hotels near the airport with free shuttle service to and from the airport. If you arrive on a Friday or Saturday, you can often get a good weekend rate. But none of them is as convenient as the Hyatt Regency.

For more information about staying at the airport on your flight arrival day (including problems that some people have run into), see http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2947185

If you book a value resort for the first night then Disney will move your bags over to the next resort while you are at park. This way you can use DME and not worry about bags the next day.

Thanks guys. Not sure what we are doing yet. This was just an option in case car rental prices don't come down. If we decide not to rent a car...we'll probabaly spend our first night at pop or all stars. Thanks for all your help!!
:)
