Third Chemo on Monday. I think this one was the worst. They gave me new anti nausea medicine which I have to take with steroids. I have so much energy in the head, but the body won't co-operate. So I lie in bed with the mind racing.
The metal taste in the mouth is worse this time too. Nothing tastes good at all.
The neulasta that cause the bone marrow to strengthen is causing such body aches I can hardly hold my head up. But this will pass in about two days.
The Dr did a culture of the wound in my surgical site and I am growing 4 different kinds of organisms again. So I am on a very high dose of antibiotics. These make me more nauseous than the chemo.
I get my last dose of this type of Chemo on Dec 20th. Then in January I start the Taxol for 4 dose. Then onto radiation.
Can't sleep, have no energy to do anything, and there is nothing but junk on TV.
But, I will be going to WDW on Dec. 28th so I hav something to look forward to. Peggie

Mickey527,

Hi. I am excited for you for your trip!

I was told on another board to look for your name. I am 28, and was diagnosed with breast cancer November 12, had surgery November 19, and will start chemo December 17. I have my official set-up meeting with the oncologist Tuesday (Dec 14), but the nurse believes I will do a treatment every 3 weeks for 12 weeks, then a treatment every week for 12 weeks, then probably daily radiation for 7 weeks. Given the upcoming 8 months, I am starting to try and focus on something fun. A post treatment Disney trip of course!

Anyway, I hope you have your strength back by the time you read this, and I hope your Dec 20th treatment goes well. I'm sure you will enjoy your New Year's trip! Have fun!

Hang in there, Peggie! We are all still thinking of you and praying for you. Use your trip as the light at the end of the tunnel. It will be here before you know it. Envision your "happy place" and feel free to vent here any time you need to.

Suzi

Peggy lots of pixie dust and prayer that you are feeling better soon Keep thinking DISNEY, DISNEY DISNEY

Peggie, as awful as life is for you now, I know it cannot be all that bad if you are on the computer giving us an update :)! All that racing in your head is your plans for your New Year's trip to WDW!! Continued prayers & pixie dust!!

Hi Anne, That would be me who suggest you "talk" to Peggie:)! Peggie meet Anne; Anne meet Peggie.

As I am writing this reply the ABC nightly news just did a piece about a breast cancer test that will determine whether or not chemo is useful after the tumor is removed.

Good luck, prayers & pixie dust to Peggie & Anne!

Keep your chin up kiddo!!! That trip to WDW will be here before you know it!!

Our dear Peggi... and here I was ready to call you tonight after you said it would be safe... so, tomorrow night will work just fine. We are sorry that this treatment was so painful and left you without much energy, but in a few short weeks, you'll be in a place you know and love, and your adrenalin level will peak as you spend some precious days soaking in the "mouse!" As always, just call if you need anything - we're just a short distance away. Caroline and Roger :grouphug:
