Hi. Our family will be arriving in a few weeks after 10pm. I have a few questions.
1 - since ME don't pickup the bags after 10pm and we claim them ourselves at baggage claim, should we still use our yellow tags we received?
2 - how often do the busses leave at time of night?
3 - we are staying at POR. How many stops will there be before we get you our resort?
Thank you in advance for the answers !!

I wouldn't put the yellow baggage tags on. They may retrieve the bags and not deliver them until the next morning.

Busses operate 24/7. I think there's a minimum period of time they must wait before they can depart MCO to try and get as many people as possible on the bus.

I don't believe there's set routes. I think the routes change as need dictates.

I'd skip the yellow tags ... it would seem there's no reason for them if your bags won't be delivered for you.

DME buses don't run on a schedule. The only procedure I'm are of is that from the time the first guest boards a bus, it must leave within 20-30 minutes, regardless of how many guests are on the bus; they are specifically NOT to wait for the bus to fill up. Twice, once in early morning and once late at night, our DME bus left the airport with about a dozen guests on-board.

There are no pre-set groupings of resorts and no set DME routes, so there's no way of knowing what other resorts will be on your bus and what the order will be. In fact, the driver is told what resorts he/she is going to, but it is up to the driver to decide the order of the drop-offs.

When we took it that late we waited for several families who were on different flights to load the bus. It wasn't too long but DME has a list of arrivals so they knew who to wait for and how long. If you tag your luggage you can have it delivered in the middle of the night once it comes or wait until the morning. We just packed pjs and toothbrushes in one of the carryons and had it delivered in the am.

DME no longer delivers bags during the night. They shut down at 10pm.

DisneyEG...If you are arriving late, I would recommend not tagging your bags. Just leave them untagged, go to baggage claim and pick them up and bring them to the bus with you.
As for the frequency of buses at that time of night, you will find that there aren't as many buses running, so you may have a bit longer wait. I also think they may add an extra resort to each run. When I was there in April, but arrived midday, we were going to BWV but the bus went to POR first, then on to BW. No way of telling how your particular route will be laid out.
I would always recommend packing a carryon bag with anything you will need for the night...just in case the airline misdirects a bag.

After 10:00 pm all luggage from the planes is put on the carousels. When the passenger pick up processed is finished, at the carousels, the remaining luggage is than picked up by the airline office and stored near or in their office. Early the next morning cast members come by and pick up the luggage that is tagged with the Disney tags. The luggage is forwarded to the distribution center and sent to Disney on the first trucks out.

You are right. After 10:00 p.m. the number of busses serving MCO are cut significantly. The busses are filled and wait longer for that process to be finished. A number of hotels are added to the bus routes as the bus is filled up. There are no set number of resorts to go to. A lot depends on the number of busses that are in the airport at that late hours. Recently there haven't been any in the holding areas.
