MDX and multiple reservations

I asked this question on another thread and got no response - probably because I essentially hijacked the original question - which the mod answered wonderfully.

So here it is:
I have two confirmation numbers (Dolphin). We have 9 people staying in two Executive suite with connecting King room combos.

Eight will have tickets. One is under 3.

We will want to get FP+ 60 days out. We will have tickets in MDX for all 8 in time (we have 4 right now).

In order to prove that all 8 are eligible to get FP+ 60 rather than 30 days out - what do I do?

Right now, we have all 8 people listed in one or the other reservation. Unfortunately, we have a few of them listed in BOTH. And I'm actually listed twice under one number.

Does that matter? Do I need to get everyone listed in one and ONLY one or the other?

I don't want to get to the 60 day starting date and find out I need to fix something in MDX, only to find out the FPs we want are no longer available once it gets straightened out.

If you can see everybody in your My disney Experience, you’re good! :)

So even if a given person is in two of the reservations? Or they don't even need to be a reservation?

Still very confusing - somehow Disney has to know that a person looking for a FP 60 days out is actually staying at a Disney resort, right?

I think what you are saying is:
I have people tied to a given trip on MDX;
then I have tickets tied to each of those people;
then I have reservation number(s) tied to the trip on MDX;

OK - then I need to have those people tied to a reservation within the same trip. And they can be tied to both reservations? Or do they need to be tied to ANY reservation as long as I see them in MDX?

If Im overthinking this - then it means I can tie someone to my trip who isn't staying at a Disney property, just for them to get a FP 60 days out of our trip.

I’d just call them. They straightened mine out very quickly and I have piece of mind to book my FPS now...

@ww52, I think you might be, as you say, overthinking this.

You will be able to book FPs for all 9 of you at 60 days (Well, technically 8 of you. The >3 y.o. can’t, and doesn’t need to have any FPs)

If Im overthinking this - then it means I can tie someone to my trip who isn't staying at a Disney property, just for them to get a FP 60 days out of our trip.

To the quoted paragraph above: In short, yes.

Anyone with an onsite reservation, as well as anyone listed as “friends and family” in the onsite guest’s MDX account can book FPs at 60 days.

Yup.

Fascinating. Thanks for the response - and acknowledging a huge loophole in the 60 day vs 30 day FP+ window.

Anyone listed as friends and family can be book FP at 60 days. Whether they are actually staying there or not.

And what's to stop someone from booking at a Disney resort AND offsite - then getting the FP's - and then cancelling the onsite reservation?

I'm beginning to see why FPs get eaten up so quickly.

To be clear - we ARE playing by the rules. We would never consider "offsite".

You’re all staying at the Dolphin, right?

Well, there are scenarios where guests traveling together may not all stay onsite. I for one welcome Disney allowing them to still make plans together. They are playing by the rules too.

The FP FAQ lists this scenario in the Booking Windows post.

Yes - all staying at the Dolphin.

And yes, I see the idea that if not all can afford to stay onsite, it's (surprisingly?) kind for Disney to let the group plan together rather than force them all onsite.

I guess I can be a bit of a harmless smart-stuff sometimes. I can't help but see a "market" here - all in jest - sort of like the very old Steven Wright joke:
I was caught scalping numbers at the deli counter today. I got $20 for number 7.

I know it's against the rules to discuss circumvention of Disney policy - and I'm stepping right in there , aren't I?

I'm out
