How timely is the drink service on the Wish? Cocktails and wine service was so slow on my past cruise (Dream) that I found myself bringing a glass of wine into the MDR from "elsewhere"... Please don't flame- it wasn't my original intention. Has it imporved any, on the Wish, in particular?

Service depends on the server, not the ship. I’ve seen numerous trip reports that indicate the waitstaff on the Wish is a mix of veteran staff and “earning my ears” trainees.

If you are a wine drinker, I recommend ordering by the bottle instead of by the glass in the MDR. Then next night your opened bottle will be in a wine bucket near the table where it can served as soon as you sit. We like to get a bottle of red and a bottle of white so we have flexibility in pairing wine with what we order each night.

Waited over 10 minutes for water/soda refills of my drink being empty on the wish this weekend and we had second dining and not that busy. But like others said it depends on the server not really by ship.

Off topic from my original post but does anyone else think the servers have more tables/people than they used to? In my past couple cruises - pre and post covid- I've almost felt bad chatting with our serving team because it just seemed like they were so overowrked and legitimately didnt have the time:(

And since the Asst Server is usually the beverage person they would be the "Newbie"....

Definitely depends on your servers. We sailed on the Dream in May and service was painfully slow. We had a great team on the Wish and were mostly prompt with drinks. Bar service was definitely slower than we would have liked.
We always bring a drink from another bar or from our room to us with dinner~ I think others do too, so it's perfectly fine to do that!
