MDE Room Requests

Trying to check in online, and MDE says my Room Requests have been saved - only there are no requests made - and when I try and edit them, the drop down menu comes up blank.

Tried using both Chrome & Edge, and also in the MDE app (which doesn't even have room requests as an option!)

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? I actually have 2 separate reservations - one a package booked directly from Disney, the other a room only 3rd party reservation that I linked; requests are not available for either.

(Looks like I'm going to have bite the bullet and actually *gasp* make a phone call. Which, obviously I'm only staying in one room - can I still make the request for the second room, or will I have to make my dad do it? I booked and paid my parents' package, but he has his own MDE account.)

That's a feature, not a bug. Or, really, it's intentional at this point.

The options that would have been there were lame anyway. Calling is your best bet.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about... I hate making phone calls though!!

You should be able to make room requests for both reservations if they're linked as you said. I did this with my sister's and my reservations - she didn't have to call separately. I did need to know the res number and her contact info to confirm (email, address, etc.).

Yeah, that's what I was worried about... I hate making phone calls though!!

I hate them too, I've used touring plans to fax over my requests but this time I called to make requests. Its early but I'm going to probably call closer to my vacation to check on my requests!

I made my requests last week for my mid-July trip. I know they were there because on Friday I had snapped a screen shot on my computer of the section underneath and it was included. Monday I went in to check something and they were gone. When I try to edit I have a similar experience where there aren't any options under the pull downs.

I'm just going to rely on my TP Room Request Fax.

You are not alone.

Yeah, think I'll give them a call after lunch... should probably at least try and get some work done this morning! ;)

Did you call the hotel directly, or the general reservation number?

There is no way to call the resort directly. Just call the general reservation line.

I was currently fixing an issue with my reservation so I called the reservation line and she was happy to make notes for me.

I hate calling the Disney phone system too. I never do, unless forced to. Since Touring Plans is so happy to handle room requests for me, I happily let them take that on for me, ensuring there is one less reason I have to pick up the phone to deal with that phone system. It's worth the subscription cost alone.

We all hate making phone calls when we don't have to but in this case, it would be best by making that phone call and giving your request to the CM that answers the reservation phone.

I skip the MDE room request section when I do online check-in and will call/fax our more detailed request myself.
Have things changed??? I talked to the Room Assigner a couple of years back (by accident as she was checking us in and mentioned that she saw my request from when I made my reservations and that she assigns the rooms) and she mentioned that they no longer accept fax request. When I asked why, she said that they got too many faxes and it was something that the entire resort was trying to discourage (fax requests that it).

I heard some resorts do not except them, but I can only tell you based on our experience. We do not use online request and have faxed in our request and got a room nearly exactly what we requested on the majority of our trips. Also, I think, why would Touring Plans offer this service if WDW does not except them.

Ok...I didn't TouringPlans offered this option. I always called in my reservation through The WDTC and made my request at that time. I like you, do not use online request.

Edit: I just read about the fax request on TouringPlans after you mentioned it.

Yes, things have changed over the years

Yeah, I do not use TP either, I can do it myself and it does not take much time and I can add my personal touch to it:)

The MDE room request section has been broken, on and off, for a good year.
When you use it, it overrides all other requests made by phone, or via DVC Member Services.

So? Your choice - but I would highly recommend that you AVOID this broken code. CALL.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Agree, found this out while checking in one trip:( That is why I skip the room request screen online.
