I checked out the MDE sticky but couldn’t find my answers.

Can I add another resort stay to my MDE account without deleting the original?

Assuming I can and I add the new resort will I lose my FP+ if I cancel the original?

TIA. Too many horror stories with MDE recently and don’t want to jeopardize my FPS with 20days to go.

Fastpasses are tied to tickets, not to resorts. You would only lose your fp's if you lost your tickets. The only purpose the resort reservation serves is to set the start date for your fp's.

:)

I remember this being true in the past. However my resort reservation dropped off for some unknown reason about two weeks ago. I had to call tech support and was told that if I didn’ Reconnect a resort within 24 hours I might lose my FPs. This was outside the 30 day window so that may have been a different situation.

It is also possible that the CM you spoke to in tech support was mistaken. I have cancelled a resort reservation 58 days prior to arrival, and all of my FP+ survived.

Back to my first question, can I have two resort reservations connected on MDE at the same time?

I have as well. I refer to those as the good old days. My concern is associated with all of the recent MDE issues. The tech I spoke to was actually surprised that I still had my FPs after my reservation dropped off. But then again maybe he drives a bus in his off hours.

We had a split stay, and unfortunately had to travel later because of my son’s work. I did not lose my fastpasses when cancelling the first reservation.

Yes, you can have multiple resort stays in MDE at the same time. We have had this situation for multiple reasons in the past and never had any issue with FPs.

When we planned our August 2018 trip, we originally had an onsite reservation. When we made the reservation, we were toying with the idea of staying offsite, so we purchased our tickets separately from the room reservation just in case. Literally 2 days after I made our FP+ we made the decision to stay offsite, and cancelled the room reservation.

Now, of course, that was in February, so I can't say 100% that they haven't fouled things up since then. However, I personally am not aware of anyone losing FP simply for cancelling a room reservation. As long as you have enough tickets for all of the days that you have FP for, I expect you will be fine.

I had a room reservation that I cancelled this past September. I received a warning that our fastpasses could be cancelled, but since we have annual passes, we didn't lose the fp's.

If you have more than 7 days of FP with the Annual Pass, you could lose FP. AP holders are only allowed to have 7 days of pre-booked FP, unless they are staying onsite, in which case they can have FP for as many days as they are staying onsite. If you book say 10 days of FP with an onsite stay, then cancel the stay, you are left with 3 days of FP that you aren't allowed to have, and could potentially lose 3 days of FP in that scenario.

If you have a 10 day base ticket though, then you would be able to keep all 10 days worth of pre-booked FP.

Alright. So I added the additional resort stay. The problem arises that the reservation number is a best western number and not recognized under the MDE system. The FPs don’t go away but I won’t have access to EMH.

That's good to know. So far the longest stay we have had is 6 resort nights at a Disney resort. :)

If your reservation is for BW Lake Buena Vista it will link to MDX within a day or two.

You’ll have access to EMH.

Thanks. It’s all good as of right now. The problem was that I had linked my BW reservation and then it disappeared.
