MDE for 18+ Kids Traveling on own

when my kids were not adults, I set up my MDE account for my family of four including my husband and two children.
My two children are now 18 and 20 and one is going to Disneyworld on her own with classmates from college. Looking for guidance on how to set her up on MDE? My kids have always logged in as me (to my MDE) during trips to book fast passes and virtual queues and mobile orders rather than on their own MDE.

She has magic bands and is linked to me in my MDE, but I don’t ever remember setting an MDE up for her? Maybe she must already have one if she has magicbands but just has never really used/logged into it?

Why do kids have to grow up?!?

You adult children should definitely have their own MDE. I'd highly recommend calling Disney IT and have them work with you to separate the accounts, tickets, MBs, etc. My spouse and I were always on a single MDE account, and needed to have our own. Several years ago, Disney IT helped us and we didn't lose a thing creating the second account.

Your daughter can create her own MDE account. Then in your MDE account you can connect her profile in your F&F list to her new account by tapping on her name in your list, then under Connect with This Guest either Scan Linking Code on her phone or Send Email to the email address she used to create her MDE account. That will tell MDE that the person named Lovely Daughter in your MDE account is the same person as Lovely Daughter who just created a new account, and all her data - MBs, tickets, anything else connected to her - will magically transfer over to her new account. It's really pretty easy, but if you have any trouble, call Website Support at 407-939-4357 and they'll be happy to help.

This We did this when my kids were 18 and 16 and we wanted to let them book their own LLs and charge using their MBs. It was pretty easy to do and I managed it without having to give Disney IT a call

Thanks! I went through this exercise and we did everything correctly, selecting “Merge” in my MDE and using her QR code to do so, but it still showed two people for my daughter (her name twice, Miss Disney Daughter, and Disney Daughter).

So I needed to call to merge them together after all. It worked out fine though because both kids are home from college for TG now, and I got them both on their own accounts and the customer service person connected all of our accounts. They still have their magic bands listed in their accounts that they have had throughout their life. So now they’re all equipped to go to Disney with AND without mom and dad!
