MDE:Does Canceling the Hotel cancel ADRs?

We are going in October for a conference at CSR but will not be able to book the hotel until Juneish, well after the 180 day window. Cali Grill for Wishes is the big reservation we want, then after that O'hana, Crystal Palace breakfast, and Akerhaus lunch. We plan to fp+ BOG

I was thinking of booking CSR now, then when I can book the conference rate (have to go through a special link), attaching that reservation to my MDE and canceling the non-discounted rate. Will canceling the hotel also cancel my ADRs?

To add another wrinkle, we will probably do a split-stay at CR, but will wait to see if the discounts come out before deciding.

Last time I did all this did not have a LO and did a lot of long, late night dining at the 2-credit places. Obviously this is not happening this go around!

You do not have to have a hotel booked to book ADRs. So if you are only booking the resort so you can make an ADR its not necessary.

For example, I just looked to see what I could book for 7/29 and there were 3 times for BOG.

Oh good. I wasn't sure if the 180-day window was only for resort guests.

The difference between onsite and offsite is that guest staying at a Disney resort can book 180+10 vs 180 days for offsite. That means if you want a BOG ADR at 6pm on your 3rd day, you might not get it at the time you want (or not at all) if you log in at 180 days because people with an onsite reservation booked it days earlier with 180+10.

I personally booked Pop for July but if there's a promo code for CBR in March or April I will cancel my Pop reservation and get CBR instead. That will not affect my ADRs as the only thing that onsite does is opening your ADR window. The ADRs themselves are not linked to your resort reservation.
