Okay - The free 7-day park hopper ticket and the great Universal resort rates (Super Savings) was enough for me to decide to spend 5 nights at the RPR in July.

Now I need a little help finding out what are the best transportation options from MCO to Universal. Would it be better to just take a cab from the airport to Universal? There are 2 of us me and my 9 year old Daughter. And after our 5 nights at Universal we are heading for Disney World for 9 nights. We can take the Magical Express back to MCO from Disney World so I'm not so concerned about that.

So, would a taxi suffice, should we contact Mears or FL Tours? What's the best way to go?

TIA! :)

I'm considering this as well now - I think the 5 night deal is too good to pass up. Mears seems to be the shuttle of the hotel, but with 4 of us a taxi might be just as cheap and easier in the long run. Also then moving to Disney, so will likely cab it from RPR to POP.

Hoping to be able to use the I-Ride Trolley to get to SeaWorld and Aquatica from RPR...as I would like to slip renting a car so as not to pay unnecessary parking fees when I know we won't really use the car that much.

if you stay at the universal on site hotels, you are provided with free shuttle transportation to Aquatica, Wet & Wild and SeaWorld.

That's great! And does it run a little more than 1 time per day each way? That's the part that scares me about hotel shuttles. LOL. ;)

Altho I never used them the shuttles usually have 2 drop off times and 2 pick up times :thumbsup2

This will be our first trip to Universal, we are staying at RPR too. It's just me and my DS14. I have priced taxis and shuttles from MCO. It looks like the taxi is less, plus no lines or stops. I read that you want to make sure it's a mears taxi. Some taxis don't have meters. They just tell now much once you get there. On the mears website, they have a taxi fare calculator. you can price Universal to Disney.

Have FUN!

Mears and other shuttle services has towncar services too and are not like shuttle buses and takes you straight to the hotel and runs from $100.00 to $110.00 for round trip and much nicer than a taxi :thumbsup2

I've taken the recommendations of MouseSavers.com for transportation and haven't been disappointed. Mears shuttle was more expensive for a family of 4 or more than a individual car service in my experience plus we didn't have to stop at other resorts and they'll usually give a stop at a store before you get to a resort.
