We fly into MCO and are driving to Jacksonville to spend time with my parents before going to Disney at the end of our vacation. Last time we flew into MCO and went straight to Jacksonville I never found I-4 and ended up by Kennedy Space Center where I reached I-95. This made our trip to Jax. about an hour longer than it should have been!

I did Mapquest this time but I has me on toll roads for 30 miles before reaching I-4. Is there a better way to get on I-4 East without having to pay a ton of tolls? Its going to be like 1:00 AM so traffic on the interstate won't be an issue.

Thanks!

That's because you took 528 East. to I-95.

Take north exit from airport. Take 528 west to I 4, (11 miles). Tolls =$1.75.

Take I-4 east to I-95 north. I-4 runs NE thru Orlando to Daytona, and will cut off alot of miles.

Thanks, I'll try that. I guess I didn't take 528 west because that seemed like the wrong option when I was ultimately heading northeast.

One more question. Friends of ours are arriving at MCO at 5:15 on a Saturday evening and heading to Daytona. Would they be better off taking the toll road route by Mapquest (to avoid traffic) or take the directions you provided, Localdriver? Thanks again!

On a Sat , going west to I-4E would be the best bet. 528 East takes you about 30 miles due east to reach 95N. You get there but it is longer.

You/they can always check I4 traffic before leaving the airport. You can find out anytime(while in Orlando) by dialing 511(free call) from your cell. It is voice activated. Just ask for "quick summary". It will give you an up to the minute traffic update for I4 from Polk county, SW of Orlando to I95 in Daytona. If there is a problem, you can decide to go East to I95 on the 528 if needed.

I use it several times each day.

Hope this has been helpful. Enjoy!! :wave2:

I did it last year and that what it is is I4 etc. There were no toll roads
