MCO to Cape Canaveral/CoCoa Beach??

We were actually going to try to go to The Space Center/Beach prior to WDW our next trip. We were wondering the best transportation/with luggage from MCO to Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area??? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Has anyone done this recently???I looked into flying into Melbourne Int Airport--not worth the added $$ or time flying. (there will be 6 or 7 of us)

Renting a car/s would definately be your best bet...very quick and easy drive out of the airport to Kennedy. There is a beach there but if you are looking for great beach place I would go elsewhere. If you want to do the space thing by day and just want someplace to see the ocean it will be fine.

I would not pay extra to fly into Melbourne...you can drive from the Orlando airport to Kennedy in less than an hour.

Yup, rent a car. Take the north exit from the airport. 528 to the beach.
