I am planning on meeting my brother at MCO. Please refresh my memory. When we land, we all went for a monorail ride right? And from there, where would you recommend we meet? At baggage? IS there only one baggage area?

Thanks!

Just to be a nit picker, they are not monorails. Automated trains on wheels.

How long between both of you landing? Same airline? How are you departing MCO?

This can make a big difference. My cousin and I are both flying to MCO in January. We are both on the same airline, but from two different cities. Currently, our flights are about 30 minutes apart with me landing first. Since we are flying the same airlines, we should both be in the same baggage claim area. We are renting a car, but it is in her name, so I will just wait for her in the baggage claim area.

If we were taking DME to WDW, I would have waited for her at DME, or just gone on to the hotel if her flight was delayed.

At MCO, the best place to meet is at the fountain (unless it's Christmastime, in which case you meet at the tree, which is on top of the fountain location at that time of year.) All entry and egress at the airport passes this point.

Depending on airline the passenger may not go through that area at all.

Slightly more than half of MCO travelers pass within sight of the fountain/Christmas tree. To and from gates 60 and up (half on side A half on side B) do. To and from gates 1 - 59 (half on side A, half on side B) do not.

From the vantage point in the above picture, gates 60 and up security is to the left. The B side security exit is a little further back on the left. The A side security exit is off the picture at the near left. Magical Express is well off the picture to the rear right (not looking almost straight ahead) and also downstairs. Gates 1-59 security is also way off to the right. Think of being up on the grandstand at the 10 yard line (current vantage point above side A) and needing to go to the goal post at the other end of a football field.
