Hi Everyone! We are staying at MCO Hyatt on a Friday night for a Saturday cruise departure (Fantasy Eastern). I've heard they will come take your bags and deliver them to the cruise ship. Who does this? Hyatt or Disney? Do they come that night? Do I need to sign up for this service? Thanks!

Just tell them at the desk when you check in and they'll give you a paper to fill out to give to the Disney transport bus. They pick up your luggage beginning around 8:00 am.

Are you taking DCL transfers the next morning to the ship? If so, when you check in at the Hyatt just let them know you are taking DCL transfers and they will put your name/room number on the list to have your (checked) bags picked up from inside your room (I believe pick up time is 8:00). The Hyatt takes the bags and gives them to the DCL transfer (truck) driver for transport to the ship. The next time you see your bags will be at your room onboard later that afternoon.

The service is a perk for folks who are taking the DCL transfers but there have been times when non DCL transfer folks had their bags taken but not sure if they had to pay for that service or not.

We have used this service many times. I do recommend that when you leave the hotel to go down to check in for the bus, if your bags have not yet been collected from your room, that you confirm with the front desk that you are on the list for collection. We had one experience where we had two rooms and only one room was on the list.

Great - thank you!

Yes, we are taking DCL transfers - thank you so much for information!

On a related note, does anyone know if Hyatt will pick up your bag from baggage claim? My mom is getting in a few hours before me and recently had shoulder surgery so she can't lift a bag/carry anything. I was hoping a bellhop or someone at the front desk might be able to deliver her bag if she tipped them. Has anyone else tried this? Thanks!

I believe they do this for a fee. I found this on the their website:

Retrieval of luggage from baggage claim and delivery to guestroom (fee)

She could also just go to baggage claim and hire a porter. The porter will then take it up to the hotel with/for her. It's possible there will be a porter switch when she gets to checkin; not sure if they have their own people or if the airport people can continue, but IMO it would be worth tipping twice over leaving my bag sitting on the carousel to go up to the hotel and ask for assistance there.
