MCO hotels

We have an early morning flight and are looking for a hotel that has a shuttle and is not too expensive - any suggestions? Don't want to pay for the Hyatt - too much $$$$

Use either Hotwire or Priceline. You can almost always get a nice MCO-area hotel for quite cheap ($50-60 plus taxes and fees).

1. Buy an AAA tour book (or no charge if you are a member). You can see which hotels have a free shuttle; also reconfirm that fact and the rate when make your reservation. The AAA book also omits most of the run down hotels.

2. Use the board down at the baggage carousels with a push button intercom along with little 3x5 ads for various hotels in the area.

When you use Priceline or Hotwire, etc. there is no way of knowing they have a shuttle let alone a free shuttle.

When you use Priceline or Hotwire, etc. there is no way of knowing they have a shuttle let alone a free shuttle.

If you use Hotwire, they specifically tell you if the hotel has a shuttle. With a bit of detective work, you can almost always identify the hotel ahead of time.

With priceline, there is only one 3*+ hotel in the MCO-area without a shuttle (Hyatt excepted), and I've never seen anyone get that hotel. And on they tiny chance you did get that hotel, priceline is so cheap that you could cab there and back and still pay well less than the rack rate.

I have used Priceline "Name your Own Price" three times. Twice I got the Hyatt for under $50 per night (without taxes and fees). The other time I got the Marriott which does have a shuttle. I think I got that for about $50 as well.
I just checked biddingfortravel.com and there are posts where the Hyatt has gone for $40 a night.
Most of the wins that I have seen are for the Hyatt or the Sheraton. I agree with the PP that you save so much over the rack rate, the cost of a taxi would easily be doable. You can check the approximate fare at mearstransportation.com
