We will be at Disney from 5/19 to 5/29. I booked a compact car through Costco on 4/19 for $152 at Budget Rental. I checked again this morning and the compact had dropped to $104. I booked a full size with Budget for $111!!

Did you check Alamo through Costco? I actually got the best rate from them for our rental. Thrilled that we took the plunge and got a Costco membership a couple months ago. I'm a believer!

Don't be fooled. That's the rate BEFORE all the fees and taxes.

Check Alamo. They are the cheapest for May 10-17 and probably for your week two. (and spouses as additional drivers have no fee!)

You do need to actually have a costco membership. You can probably book wihtout one but they are entitled to ask you for your membership card

I'm pretty sure you can't book one without a membership at Costco. The website will ask for your Costco membership number and password when you book so you need to establish a travel account before the car rental is confirmed.

I've booked several times thru Costco including one for next week in LA. The rate includes all fees and taxes. We have a Fri to Fri SUV for $208. Strangely I've been watching the prices for the past month and they have gone up by $100. I've been hoping the price would go down closer to travel dates like other DIS'ers mention but so far no luck.

This is correct.
You can view the rates, but in order to actually book a car, you must have a Costco member ID and password to proceed.

The rates shown are inclusive of all taxes and fees.

Check the numbers on carentalsavers . com. It appears to be a bit cheaper if the price you listed is without taxes.

Pull the car out of the lot, 'cause the rates do go up and down... make a ressie and then watch for a "sweet spot". We've had this happen 5 out of 6 rentals in the last 3 months, both in MCO as well as other cities, including during high peak season at a mega-convention week. During the last year always find costco's rate finder to have lowest rate (including the pesky fees) vs. all other travel sites.
YMMV though
Good luck

We got ours through price line and only paid $12 a day for a brand new dodge charger. With taxes it was around 16 maybe

It really depends. For our latest trip during Easter weekend, Costco was cheaper than the best deals on priceline. I always book through Costco and then check their site every week or so. About 3 or 4 weeks out, I will try to get a steal on priceline. Sometimes it works, sometimes not - BUT there will usually be a time about 1 -2 weeks before pick where Costco will be the cheapest.

I rent cars alot for both business and pleasure in various cities, and this is what I've noticed.

I used Budget at MCO through Costco last summer because it was the best deal, but their counter service was terrible. There was only two people in front of me, but only one agent (others were there but not working for some reason). There was a problem with the group at the counter and it took a LONG time to get a car.

I got great deal...finally. Booked thru Costco travel. Budget May21st to May31st - $187.71 for a full size. Best rate Ive found so far. This was total including taxes & fees :) Im happy !!

Thank you for this info! I have not been able to get below $300 for our 13 day full size car May 18-31, but Costco was just over $250 after taxes.

This recently worked for me on our trip to Aulani as well. Prices kept dropping as we neared our travel dates and ended up booking an SUV for 8 days in Honolulu for $150 through Costco. Always keep checking rental car rates as they fluctuate often!
