MCO - Arriving with 3 kids + a lot of luggage

My wife and I will arrive in MCO at 9am on a Monday, with our sons (3, 2mos.) and daughter (4), + a bunch of luggage. I think the best way to organize ourselves will be to get our rental car as a group, drive it back around to the pick-up area, and for me to then retrieve our luggage (whether it be one or two carts' worth-- I hope only one) by myself, with the rest of the crew staying by the car. Can anyone see any flaws in this plan?

In particular, I'm concerned that the luggage being unattended for 30min. or so might cause a problem for security, etc. However, getting the luggage before putting the kids safely in the rental car seems like a suicide mission! Many thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.....

With the new rules, you will not be allowed to park the car by the baggage area and go in and get the luggage, even with your wife & kids waiting there. We always get a cart in the baggage claim, we usually have 2 full size suitcases, 1 overnight and 2 carryons and they all fit in the cart. We then take the cart over to the rental cars (National). I think your best bet may be to get the luggage in a cart and take it to the curb outside baggage claim, have your wife & kids wait there until you get the rental car and come back. They will let you park while you load the car, but it can't just sit there. With new security rules, I don't know what they would do with your luggage if it was not picked up promptly from the carousel.

You cannot leave your luggage. Get one of the "smart carts" (or two) and take the luggage and the family to the car pickup (assuming it is onsite) or shuttle bus and go as a group.
