I read their TOS at Alamo and under debit cards it says:
Under Payment Policy it says:
Credit Card
A credit card, with available credit and in the renter's name, must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card. In addition, if the renter has an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction.
___
There is no mention of using a debit card under the payment policy. But it another area it seems like you can use one if you show a round trip ticket. Has anyone ever rented from Alamo with the debit card? How did it go? Was there a large hold on the debit card? Thanks for any info.
- For pick-ups in the United States, without proof of round-trip ticket, debit or check cards are accepted only when returning the vehicle. A credit card in the name of the renter must be presented at the time of pick-up.
