MCO Airport meeting place

Hello, I am new to the site as a member, however I admit I have used it as a resource MANY times during my many travels to Disney world. I apologize if I am posting in the incorrect area - I just can't seem to find the information I am looking for and am hoping some of you can help.

We have planned a trip to Disney World in January next year and we have family members travelling direct from NL to MCO with Westjet, others travelling from NS to MCO with a connection in TO.

The travellers from NL are super excited but not seasoned travellers and are nervous about arriving at the airport without us (on a previous trip, the travelled with us by meeting in TO). I have assured them I will be at the airport to meet them, but I'm wondering where the earliest point of entry would be for me to meet them. I will be arriving in FL on a Thursday, they will be arriving on a Saturday. I have already checked with the Magical Express and they assured I can hitch a ride to/from the airport with them to pick up the extended family.

I'm assuming they will have to go through customs/security at MCO, but is that done before the train or after? and can I meet them before the train?

If they don't preclear customs in Nl (and I don't think the do) then they will clear before getting on the tram for the terminals. I believe the trams are after the security checkpoints, so the earliest you could meet them is after they get off the trams. Just make sure everyone knows which terminal ( a or b) they need to go to.
