MCO @ 10:36, ME to Poly, CP by 1PM? Is this possible??

I arrive at MCO at 10:36 AM on Saturday October 10. We'll take ME to Poly.

Am I cutting it too close to try for a 1 PM ADR at Crystal Palace?

That sounds about right to me. Even with delays, you should be fine. Or everything goes right and you have time to even do a ride before you eat!

As long as everything at MCO and ME goes without any problems, it will be cutting it close. It's possible, but if there are delays........ If you have the phone # to WDW dinning, I would give them a call to inform if you are going to be running behind.

IF everything goes right, you should be okay. That said, if your flight is late or you have to wait at the bus stop or wait on the monorail ect ect... you might run into problems.

Personally, I would not book anything earlier then 3 hours after you arrive at MCO and even then it would be nothing that I would hate to miss. I have a meal booked 5 hours after we land for our trip and I am STILL nervous about it!

Normally I agree with this philosophy but since you are staying at the poly (vs. Pop or some place you have to wait for a bus) I think you will be fine. Even if it takes 2 hours to get to your hotel... it won't take long to get to CP from MK.

As long as the flight is on time, I think you'll be ok. You should probably skip checking in though and wait until after lunch. I'd get off ME and just get straight on the monorail or boat to MK.

I was going to suggest that also, but then I thought maybe their park tickets were tied to a package, so they'd have to check in to even be able to enter into a park. If so, I'd recommend online check in.

You're right. We won't have our passes (or our meal plan) until we check in. I'm planning on online check-in.

I guess claiming our own baggage at MCO is out of the question if I want to make CP by 1pm, right? I'd love to be able to retrieve our own bags and not wait on them at the hotel.

Thats cutting it close. On our last trip our flight was 1 hr behind (both ways!). If i were in your situation with a 1pm ressie, I would have missed it for sure.

Since you are using ME, don't worry about your bags. Just head straight to ME from the plane. Since you will have done online check-in, you should probably have your KTTWs within ten minutes of getting to the Poly. Your room will probably not be available anyway, so while you are checking in someone else in the group can drop carry-on with Bell Services. By the time you are done with lunch and return to the Poly your room should be available as well as your luggage being in your room.

It may be a simple typo, but I'd hate for you to miss your reservation because of this. Saturday is the 8th of October. The 10th is Monday. I know this because I am going home on the 10th.

It was a typo, sort of. For some reason I have it in my head that we are going Saturday-Saturday, when we're actually to be there Monday-Saturday.

10:36 is your landing time. You will need about 20 minutes to a half hour just to deplane and walk to the DME location (use the later time if you intend to take bathroom breaks), assuming you don't intend to pick up any luggage. Then you wait for the bus. At the best possible scenario you get immediately on the bus and it leaves. Give it 70-90 minutes for the bus ride. You're now at about 12:30 and you're at the resort. If you are intending to use dining credits for your meal, or your park tickets are part of a package, you need to check in...you probably need to do so anyway if the luggage is being sent from the airport.

You might JUST make it but any delays at all will result in missing the ADR. I'd push it a little bit later just for the extra time cushion.

60-70 minutes for the bus ride? It doesn't take you to Tampa. It shouldn't be more than around 30 minutes to actually get to Disney, then it will depend on which stops are first. If it goes to CR first, they could just get off there and hop on the monorail.

Sure, if there's a 1:30 reservation available, take it just to be sure. But I assume you would have already done that if possible. So if 1:00 is the only time available, keep the reservation and just see how it goes.

We landed at MCO at 4:45 and were eating dinner at Tutto at 7:20pm. This included DH taking a shower, wandering around the GCH, and picking up our mugs at Captain Cook's. Our plane was delayed by about 15 minutes and we waited about 10 minutes for the ME to leave. MK is closer than EP and CP is closer to the front of the park than Tutto - I think you should be fine!

Calm yourselves...it should take an average of 80 mins to get from the gate to the resort. Flight arrival is NOT the same thing...that adds about 10-15 mins to the time, which is why I always say from 'gate' to resort.
So...here's an average breakdown. IF you arrive ontime at 10:36...
at gate by 10:50
walk to tram...3-5 mins
tram to main terminal...4 mins
walk down to level 1 and DME checkin area...8-10 mins
time to checkin...0-10 mins (usually closer to 0 mins)
in bus line....0-20 mins (usually about 10 average)
bus ride to resort.....30-50 mins, depending on which stop.

So, average is about 70 or so mins. If you arrive, ontime, you 'should' be at the Polynesian by noontime. You should be able to be checked in and on your way to the MK no later than 12:20ish..plenty of time to get to lunch for 1pm.

It has never, ever taken my longer than 90 mins to get to my resort, and that one time I was the third of three stops, with a ton of luggage being removed from the bus at the first two stops...added about 10 mins to our time!!

On at least two occasions it took me 2.5 hours. But that was unusual...although it did happen. Twice.

And there are many opportunities for delays... the flight; checking in at DME; waiting to board the bus; waiting for the bus to leave; checking in at the resort; Disney transportation (yes, even on the monorail).
