We are looking at August flights on Southwest - right now we are at $77 down and $125 back. It's been 10 years since we have flown so I am a little out of the loop, but I am guessing this is probably the best we can hope for? There are 5 of us so every little bit helps!

Thanks in advance....

Go to kayak.com and enter your dates. It will show you the airfares for most other airlines, except Southwest. Then you can compare what you have found on Southwest.com to the other airlines.

Don't forget to add the baggage/seat selection fees to the fares you get from the other airlines

We are going down in July from MCI-MCO and we booked with Airtran in January and our flights cost just about the same. At that time (7 months out) Southwest was 60.00 higher.
I will say that our flights have been changed (jacked-around) drastically 4 times already and our non-stop down completely eliminated. If I could have switched to Southwest anywhere in the process I would have because that was the only reason I even considered Airtran was price and non-stops.
We have been to WDW more times than we can count and usually fly SW and have never had a change had a non-stop flight turned into a 7 hour travel bum out.
However for some reason SW has remained too high for our trip on our specific dates.

If the times and the flights suit your needs I would book it.
The good ole days of flying round trip from Kansas City to Orlando (round trip) for $110.00 are long gone I'm afraid.
Good luck!

If the Southwest fare isn't too bad, I'd go ahead and book it while you can.

Remember, with Southwest, you can continue to monitor the fares after your purchase and if they go down, you can rebook and take the credit for a future flight....without penalty. (The credit is good for a year from the date of booking)

I think $77 is a fantastic price. I'm from OMA and the prices have been far more expensive than that. Cheapest I saw was $125 one way. Luckily I had a free ticket. Good luck with your quest. Sometimes OMA can get great deals. Just sign up for Ding, add your home airport, orlando, maybe OMA if it's feasible for you.
