McDonalds

I drink Diet Coke with everything, not because I think it matters when I have a cheeseburger  , but because it's what I drink.

I'm not on a diet and I drink Diet Coke(actually Diet Pepsi at home) all the time, I never drink regular soda. Not only do I like it better, but if I'm going to have calories, I want to eat them not drink them.

Ive noticed this too. Ok, actually my son noticed this on his food. I was shocked when yrs ago they started putting the nutritional/calorie count on the bottom of a box of Valentine's day candy. WOW, what a downer to see on something you only get once a yr ;)
Still taste good though, would taste better if I didnt see how many calories I consumed in a 2 minute period

I can honestly say I have been frustrated the other way...I have asked for nutritional information and they were not able to provide it. I ended up not eating that time, just sat and watch DH and the girls eat. Now if I am being good I try to look up the information before I go. This week would be a week where seeing the information would not make me feel good since I am eating unhealthy. :rolleyes1

Mouth: Go ahead! Eat McDonalds. It tastes so good, once it hits your lips!

Stomach: So help me God, if you eat that stuff, I'll make your life a living hell for the rest of the day.

I side with my stomach...

:teeth:

I don't eat McDonald's....my ds works there....enough said. :rotfl2:
Seriously the smell on his clothes is enough to make me heave.

I guess you won't be watching the Supersize Me movie? :rotfl:

My kids had to watch this as a part of their health/PE class in school this past spring.

They learned SO much about calories/fat/portion size. They also had to keep a food diary for a week and take it to school as well.

I commend our school and the PE teachers for doing this. My kids now don't make their choices as hastily at home or when we go out to eat.

Some people[Me!] Drink Diet cola due to Diabetes.

Dr. said once and a while a small burger, walked thru the garden[with vegi's] is okay. It keeps down the cravings. I skip the fries, I worked in a plant that made McD fries, enough SAID!![Dd likes Burger King, when she opens there bag in the car, I almost HURL!!]

But I have to drink Diet the rest of my life!!! I like it too, no yucky sugar scuz on your teeth after you drink Diet.

Count me in as another person who likes having that info! My son has food allergies so we need ingredients and I am on Weight Watchers so I need to figure the points. That's the good thing about Weight Watchers, if I want a McDonalds hamburger, I can have one (I love those tiny onions!)

Wow!! These are some fast responses!!

I figured it was because people sued and I understand people wanting to know what's in it...but I think having to look at it while I eat it is just uncool!! :)

I know people like to know what they eat and that's good....but for me I'd rather hear about all the violence in the world and NOT have to know what's in my food!!

So my options are...move to Canada or go to Burger King or KFC!! :rotfl: I guess from now on I will take my own paper to wrap my burger in and throw their paper away!!

tara

You can always just carry a plate with you and hand it to the cashier and say "Just tell them to save the wrappers and put my burger and fries on this". You'll look like you are really into saving the enviroment and recycling instead of avoiding the guilt of seeing fat grams. :teeth:

The nutitional values over here are placed on one of those pieces of paper that covers your tray, but most of the time you can't read it due to all the grease that has come off the food.

It does make good reading in some instances. For example the Chicken Ceaser Salad in a bowl contained more calories than the Big Mac.

I am glad that they put the info on there. Now I am less tempted to eat there!

My thoughts exactly.

Even my DD 12, is aware of how many calories are in those foods. So when we do go, we usually order small fries and the dollar cheeseburger. Even though we would rather have a Big Mac :)

Just be thankful their food doesn't come with ingredient listings. Yuck.
Inquiring minds want to know: How many chicken lips go into the recipe for a single Chicken McNugget? :teeth:

As a side note, I wish that Subway and Quiznos had drive thrus. I always have a car full of kids and I would go there more if they did. McDonalds is just so much easier to get through.

MeanLaureen...I like that idea of the plate!! :teeth: you think it will work in the drive through!!

As for diet coke, I'm sitting here sipping on my first of the morning after just having made pancakes for me and the kids! :rotfl2:

See chicken lips are the reason I don't eat the chicken nuggets...I keep telling my kidds what's in them but they don't believe me..now I'll have to show them this and tell that since I read it on the Dis I know its true!! :teeth:

I think putting htem on the tray is a good idea too!! Then you can cover them up with your wrappers!!

I really do know how bad their food is for you and I only eat there about once every two or three months...I figure at that rate it will take a good long while for their food to kill me! Now my kids on the other hand....that won't take quite as long!!

that would be nice if they had drive thrus...but do you know how long you would have to sit there with the kids screaming in your ear for their food...

OT of the OT but I love the picture of the ungrateful children in your siggie!! That is too funny!!!

3.5 years ago I stepped on a scale 273 pounds  . So I went on a Diet

I ate a Checkers Burger and spicy Chicken sandwich every day for lunch (with a non-sweet tea). I also cut out all colas during the week and Sunday.

I have lost 43 pounds :cool1:  :cheer2: :woohoo: . I have only 30 to 35 pounds left to loose before I turn 40 (in 5 years). :thumbsup2.

I eat at fast food places, I don't eat the fries or get a cola. (small fries: 250 cal., regular coke: 210 cal.. total 460 cal :guilty: )

The nutritional facts help, my daugher is type 1 diabetic.

PS: A local Subway has a drivethrough. It is very busy at lunchtime. They also have a "fax and build" type thing that speeds up the process.
