McDonald's is now advertising menu hacks/secret menu

I don't get it either when they use frozen patties that are already prepared by a supplier. I'd understand fresh ground beef shortages. They used to advertise "fresh Quarter Pounders" around here, and it was actually quite noticeable.
Supply chain issues. Those frozen patties have to come from somewhere.

This is no different, IMO, than any of the "special meals" (e.g. BTS, etc.) where they just took what they were already selling and slapped them together with a marketing campaign.

At least with that one they had some special sauces. Eventually I figured out how to get those without having to pay a premium for a "BTS Meal".

It's not really a secret menu if they are advertising it. 🙂
Which is probably why they called it "menu hacks". If they actually called it a secret menu they'd probably be slapped with a ridiculous class action lawsuit.

In Ontario, the BTS Meal was the same price as the normal 10pc combo. I really hope they weren't charging extra just for the sauces.

Then again, Timmys charged extra for TimBiebs, so...

The McDs app is amazing. Where else can you get a large fries for a dollar.

To be fair, BCLA called it "secret" in his thread title. Therefore BrianL is free to sue BCLA for false advertising (under statute 8675309). No worries, I'll be BrianL's legal counsel. We'll have to go over the paperwork, I suggest we meet at Wendy's over a Jalapeno Chicken Blizzard.

Aren't we getting lost in semantics here?

I almost never get the combo. Never made much sense. At the time the 20 piece Chicken McNuggets was $5 in my area, and on top of that I had an app deal (still do) for two large fries free with a 20 piece. Eventually the "BTS" special sauces were available with any Chicken McNuggets as long as I ordered via the app or at one of those kiosks, but I had cashiers tell me I couldn't get it without ordering the "BTS Meal".

I still have that 2 free fries special. However, they've since raised the 20 piece price to $6.

I like using the kiosks, but sometimes they just say that my deal is no longer valid and I have to wait about 10 minutes before my code resets and I can ask a cashier for it. I've done oddball stuff like ask for jam packets, salsa, butter, or extra ketchup. If I ask a cashier for that stuff, they start looking at me like I'm wasting their time. But it's all on the screen (this is an old one) and I can take my time.

So it's available today and I noticed that the deal they have is free medium friend and a free soft drink if one buys the Surf&Turf.

They are being awfully specific about the type of friend you get. Not very inclusive, if I'm being honest.
