I was reading on another site today about Disney selling McDonalds at different locations throughout the 4 parks. Can anyone verify this :confused3

I can't seemed to find a true answer ab out it. The only thing that I ever remember were the McDonalds french fry carts. I can't believe after 27 years of traveling to the world, I don't know the answer to this.

Thanks in advance for the help :worship:

I think they pulled out the fry carts from Frontier land in about 2008.

There is a McDonald's (actually two I think, but we only went to the one near the All Star resorts) restaurant inside the world, but you need a car to or cab to get to it.

We ended up there once late night and once for breakfast during Christmas week last year. The one near the All Stars it quite frankly the nicest (from an interior standpoint) McDonald's I've ever been in. That being said, I don't end at any McDonald's very often.

It was large, clean reasonably priced (considering Disney prices), and surprisingly uncrowded.

they are down to one McDonalds within the Disney World property, but it is a free-standing McD's, not at a park or a resort, so you would need a car to get there. It's located near the All Star Resorts.

There used to be a full-service McDonald's at Downtown Disney, but that one closed and is now a chicken place, cupcake place & I forget what the other thing was...fresh salads maybe?

As the others have said, there is a McD's just down the street from the allstars. Take the All Star resort bus, get off at All Star Sports, and take a short walk to mcd's. Im pretty sure you can see McD's from the foot of the driveway at Sports. Its only a 5 min walk, very short. We've gone there a couple of times. its quite nice!

Another option (for those who must) is the McDonalds just across the street at Crossroads. It's not that bad a walk along Hotel Plaza blvd from DTD.

Ditto. I never understood why McD's was ever sold at WDW. Why on earth would you eat at McD's while at Disney when you have so many better food choices? :sad2:

Because when the kids are whining that they are hungry an hour before your dinner reservations that order of Mc Fries was just enough to get them to shut up! :lmao: I have to say I'm sad that they took my fries out of the MK.

I read Fast Food Nation just a couple of months ago. Ray Kroc bought the rights to the McDonalds franchise about the time Disneyland was being built. Walt and Ray were from the same area and served in the same ambulance corps as underage enlistees. They apparently were not friends but may have been acquainted. Kroc wrote Disney asking to open a McDonalds restaurant in Disneyland. It appears Wal never responded.

So after many years, McDonalds is almost back to its position with Disneyland. (Wasn't Dinosaur originally sponsored by McDonalds?)

Yep I had been thinking I would use this very useful approach to parenting too!!;)

Claire :)

The best part is they replaced the Fry stand in Frontierland with THE BEST quick service. I don't eat a lot of carbs or sugars and the chicken flatbread with apple slices there saved me many times from making the mistake of a burger and fries!

I read this on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Kroc#McDonald.27s

After finalizing the agreement with the McDonald Brothers, Kroc sent a letter to Walt Disney. (They had met as ambulance driver trainees at Sound Beach, Connecticut.) Kroc wrote, "I have very recently taken over the national franchise of the McDonald's system. I would like to inquire if there may be an opportunity for a McDonald's in your Disney Development." Disney agreed under stipulation to increase fries from ten cents to fifteen cents allowing himself the profit. Kroc refused to gouge his loyal customers leaving Disneyland to open without a McDonald's restaurant.

It would've been great to have something familiar to feed my DD3 while we were there...everything was so new and different....the comfort of nuggets and fries would have helped her eat more at other places i think!!!
