McDonalds 100 Years Celebration

well I just picked up a SET of the glases this morning on the way into work. I was glad they let me do it. I asked if I could buy the whole set, half expecting "no" (my fiance had bought a glass yesterday, they ASKED her if she wanted a full set, she would have but didn't have enough for the whole set on her) because of the reports here of people being able to only purchase one at a time.

I went to the same one. I asked about buying a set again. (Hoping)
I was told they only had the one glass available.
So I am guessing not all rec'd all four, or the mgr has the others stashed away.
I'll have to try another one later this weekend.
I bought two more toys. This time I rec'd Flounder and Tramp.
One package had a "1". The other had a "2". So those numbers must not mean anything, since the one from last night also had a "1" and it was Phil.
But I am glad I didn't end with three Phil's.

Different franchises are pricing them differently; I bet the one you went to was a corporate store.

The hamburger happy meal was $1.99, so I changed it to 4 happy meals, ate two of the hamburgers and most of the fries, and brought the other two burgers home to the dogs. Thanks to McDonalds, our dogs are going to get fat off of hamburgers.

I ended up getting two Donalds, one Bianca, and one Hercules. What was bad was that two of the ones Lauri and I want were in the display -- Dumbo (her) and Huey, Dewey, and Louie (me).

well just back from my lunch trip. I got three hamburger happy meals as the 51 cents extra for a slice o' cheese was a bit steep for me. the girl working the counter plunked down the boxes in front of me empty, so I took the time while waiting for the food to be put in them to look at which I got. I got ones I could easily read though the bag. I orignally got two Ariels and a Robin Hood one. I exchanged one of the Ariels and got a Penguin one.

So off to a small slow start

I saw what I really want the display!

It is great - with autographs, pictures & mickey head punches. I'll try to talk the local stores out of one but maybe they'll be cheap enough on ebay.

It's very upsetting to see complete sets and lots of each box (A, B, C, D, E, and F) for sale on Ebay.

It should be illegal. It's absolutely employees/managers doing this as there's no way people like us can get complete sets this quickly and by Lots.

I know there's not much we can do about it; I guess I just had to vent.

Same thing happened with beanie babies.

Also, I do appreciate that list of what toys are in what box/lot but it's also a little depressing because now I see what I missed when I got Tantor or Phil!!

I also thought of another depressing thing, they could sell out much earlier than April 4 the way they are being auctioned off on ebay.

Sorry it's a depressing post. I just needed to vent.

Visited my local McDonalds today (Toronto). So far I've only seen the Hapy Meal figure commercials but I was hoping they had the glasses anyway...no dice. Hopefully they will be coming (after all we got the 25th anniversary and 2000 celebration glasses).

A question for the Americans on this board..in all the ads I've seen (Canadian or US version)they show a Happy Meal box. I haven't seen a Happy Meal box in Canada for several years...they use a paper bag with games printed on it. Do they still use the box in the US?

Yes they still use the box- so far I've seen two different styles.

They don't use the box for every promotion.......but this promotion has a box. A lot smaller than previous boxes and when my kids were little you got a hamburger/cheeseburger, drink, fries, toy and a small bag of cookies. Now NO Cookies.

I think the cookies is a franchisee decision. The McD's near my home does not include cookies anymore, but the one I stop at near work for lunches, does still.

I have gotten two different styles of the boxes so far.

I've gotten several of one box and only 1 of the other.

I've only gotten one duplicate so far (Mulan).

I decided to be brave and trade it and the employee gave me a hard time saying "how do you know what's inside?" I said it's Mulan and they gave me another. Well, I got a duplicate again! This time it's Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey. Oh well, at least it's a good one!

I can't bring myself to post my wants/trades at the trade post yet because I'm still hoping to get some of what I want before the promotion ends. Plus I only have the one duplicate so far. I can't believe how much money this is costing!

I think I can get an extra set of glasses I mean I am in the wilds of north wisconsin so they might not sell out as quickly. I got a whole set they day them came out as I was driving up here. I didn't even know they had come out since I was away from my computer. I saw the picture in the window when we stopped for a break and started bouncing in my seat... Britt just laughed and said alright go get your set... I will try and get a few extras in case someone misses out.

Now for my beg. Anyone have an extra Smee and an extra Octupus from the Peter Pan toy set from last month? I need them to make a whole boat for my kids.
