Don't you just hate when companies stop making a product that you love and use all of the time!!! I have been to four different stores in search of Salt N Spice only to learn that McCormick's has discontinued it. We use this in so many of our dishes, it will be hard to replace. I wrote to the company, but I am sure that will do no good, so now I am on a quest!!! Argh!

YES!!! I used to love Waffle Crisp cereal and my fiance's daughter loved Fruit Loop Cereal bars. Not to mention that Uncrustables needs to bring back the all peanut butter sandwiches and also make just jelly so that the girls will actually eat them with their daddy and me!

You need to check out the "food you used to love" thread. It's filled with vents about food that has gone missing...though most of it is admittedly junk food!
You'll find lots of kindred spirits over there!

Hope you find some! Never tried McCormicks but I'm addicted to Crazy Jane's Mixed Up Salt (salt with spices added). It might be similar to McCormicks, if your quest ends in disappointment.

I was going to suggest the OP try this as well. We just call it crazy salt :teeth:.

Can you tell me what it is made up of? The Salt N Spice is salt, black pepper, garlic, onion and sweet bell pepper and I would love to find something similar.

TACO FLAVORED DORITOS AND MR. SALTY PRETZEL STICKS.

That is all.

Same here. It's a staple in our family.. seriously, if that was ever discontinued it would be a major tragedy. No one would ever be the same! :rotfl:

You didn't ask me..but I'll be happy to oblige.
Ingredients are not that detailed though: Salt, Herbs & Spices, Dehydrated Onion, Dehydrated Garlic.

Correct name (I screwed it up) is Jane's Krazy Mixed-Up Seasonings- Original Mixed Up Salt.

I also use Jane's Krazy Pepper: Black Pepper, Spices, Dextrose, Sugar, Red & Green Sweet Pepper, Dehydrated Onion.

I was so angry that they discontinued the Salt'n Spice!! I have been using that ever since I was 4 years old. My kitchen just doesn't function without it. My husband doesn't really understand why I am so upset because to quote him "manufacturers do that all the time what can you do about it" I'll say I did something I wrote their consumer affairs people an email and told them that they had just done the worst possible thing and that they obviously didn't realize just how popular that spice really is I mean they have 4 new bottles of it going for $45 on Ebay!! At McCormick's site they give you a recipe to make your own that is "similar". Well anyway I am just glad that I am not the only one mad about this. I think if enough people sent in their emails and letters of outrage they would bring it back that is what happened with the nano pets.

Welcome to the Dis!

McCormick's Season All is similar (the red is paprika)
also Morton's"Nature's seasonings)-yellow label-navy cap is similar.

Yup, hate it when companies do that. They took my sugar free Tang off of the shelves. They are actually owned by the same company that makes Crystal light too. I suppose they wanted to promote that more instead.;(
So now I am stuck using low sugar Tang instead. (Get burned out quick on Crystal Light, btw);)

I miss taco doritos too! :sad2: :sad2:

We have Taco Doritos here--at least I think we do--we had them a couple months ago

Try the McCormick's Steakhouse seasoning. I think it is similar--it is one of the grinders they sell.

We miss the guacamole Doritos. Man, we were seriously addicted. No other Dorito comes close. It my be a good thing they are gone; we had an unhealthy relationship with them!

I am so glad there are other families addicted.:goodvibes

little bit of salsa, lemon juice and crazy salt makes the best guacamole (with avocados of course!!)
